here i fixed it for you: First tool I ever learned about was my dad. Then again, I grew up in a tool shed.

Ooooh, I never would have thought. We do use a horse-related word for the sawhorse in my language, but had never encountered it in English until now.

In my mind, the joke was kind of more abstract:

"the seahorse looks tense now because it's alive", "the wood horse is technically dead so it's no longer tense" (of course, if I think about it more, it makes no sense because the sawhorse is hard and therefore "tense"...)
