Has anyone else noticed a sudden lack of reading comprehension skills? (sh.itjust.works)

Just as the title asks I've noticed a very sharp increase in people just straight up not comprehending what they're reading.

They'll read it and despite all the information being there, if it's even slightly out of line from the most straightforward sentence structure, they act like it's complete gibberish or indecipherable.

Has anyone else noticed this? Because honestly it's making me lose my fucking mind.

Both? Though I've noticed it more when it comes to my personal word choice.

Honestly it might even just be because I'm autistic but it's a recent thing (as in past few years) that suddenly a much larger number of people don't understand the information I'm trying to convey.

Ok if it is both then it isn't your writing that is the issue as is the case with myself (with clear eyes my writing is often less clear than I thought).

We are seeing the generation of Americans who learned whole word instead of phonics and that causes sincere problems.
