The whole genre is hilariously incompetent. It SHOULD be easy for somebody to come along, make an actually good extraction shooter, and cash out, but every time they do something dumb to screw it up.

Marauders was a blast for a short period of time before they made the mistake of listening to their community and made it Tarkov But Worse

Do you have a moment to talk about our lord and savior Hunt: Showdown?

The best extraction shooter out there.

It has zombies. It has wild west. It is balanced. It takes two shots to kill and two minutes to reload. Come to the Bayou!

While I agree that Hunt is a great game, I think it's a bit dishonest to compare it to Tarkov. I guess it's my own fault for saying "extraction shooter" since Hunt IS a Shooter where the goal is to Extract something, but the economic component is paper-thin, to the point that it barely matters.

A strength of Tarkov is the frequent wipes. This isn't me saying Hunt should do the same - it's a different game. Rather that I want a game with an emphasis on economic risk, like Tarkov, but made by a developer with the competence of Crytek.

I wasn't aware of what you are looking for specifically in a game.

I switched from Tarkov to Hunt a while ago and never looked back, so I like to recommend it to others.

The crosshair being locked on the bottom third of the screen makes the game unplayable for me. It's the same feeling as when a game locks you to 60 fov where its slightly nauseating and very annoying at all times making every moment of the game feel terrible when it normally wouldn't be. Forced my self to play it when my friends were online assuming it was just something that I had to get use to, but according to steam I spent 24.8 hours on the game and I still can't stand it to the point where it is one of the 3 games I just straight up refuse to play at this point along with leauge and ark. I was really hoping the devs would add an option to be able to center the crosshair but the lead dev said that they weren't going to change it due to it being too much effort iirc.

Other than that one issue the game seems pretty good, everything seemed well designed at least when I played back in 2021 and I cant think of a another complaint I had. Not sure how people can deal with it but i'm glad that most people can enjoy the game.

Marathon will totally get it right this time.... Right?

Call of Duty DMZ was a fun mode at launch when the game’s identity was consistent and there weren’t p2w elements. That didn’t last very long.

Loved marauders when it came out. Recently tried to get back into it and it was so dead I was just walking around shooting the sky for funsies
