Right after 9/11, almost every house in Canada had American flags up in their windows. Newspapers were even printing full page flags for people to use. That's how much Canadians cared about Americans.
How do you fuck up so badly that you have Canadians throwing American flags in the trash?
If you have an American flag in Canada, there are only 2 options. 1 you're a traitor, or 2, you're an enemy.
