95% publicly funded

ARTE is a public service broadcaster that is 95% funded by France and Germany, each of which has their own specific funding arrangements for public service broadcasting.Β In France, public service broadcasting is currently funded through a fraction of VAT proceeds, whereas in Germany, the main source of funding for its public service channels is the licence fee. ARTE does not run advertising, other than for public interest campaigns, but may generate some income of its own, in particular through sponsorship arrangements.

ARTE Concerts on YouTube has some of the most well produced live recordings I ever found. And from such varied genres as well.

The concert by LANDMVRKS from Hellfest is so well done, you can press it on BluRay and sell it.

Highly recommend to check their collection, from Jazz to Pop and everything in between - ARTE got you covered

I also watch ARD and ZDF mediathek. Not everything is available here but series like Tatort mostly are.

Try Der Pass if you like Tatort. Unfortunately, it's not available on Mediathek or other free tv platforms right now.

What is this? Shows? Movies? Podcasts?

Shows, documentaries, movies, concerts and all sorts of other stuff. It's what PBS was before it got gutted.
