It's called "Mothering Sunday" so that all the dads who fulfill a mother's role, as well as a dad's, get credit too.

Technically it’s part of Lent and you’re supposed to visit your “mother church” - whatever that means.

Is not the notion that a father being nurturing and acting in ways you seem to believe are feminine or motherly in nature, just poorly disguised misogyny. Let mums have their day.
