The video works best if you play it straight, but it also looks like spam if you play it straight, so it's hard to introduce to strangers who don't know of BDG. You might have to share a playlist that starts with "Teaching Jake about the camcorder, Jan '97" or "Just One Day - 2winz^2 (Official Video)" to ease them into it.
You did good, I just saw a bunch of reports and thought the title looked like some of the spam we occasionally get. I'm sure the people down voting thought the same thing, so I wouldn't read too much into that.
I can confirm that actually, I downvoted initially and only after seeing someone had commented that it wasn't what it appears did I open it and see.

Its pretty reasonable that if you see a thing that is disguising itself as spam, and you don't know that it is only disguising itself as spam. To one, not click the link, but also to downvote or report and move on.
The person making the joke probably knows that it is probably going to have a high miss rate, which doesn't mean they shouldn't do it.
I don't know why there's not more upvotes on this BDG video. His stuff is great, including this one.
