Help (sh.itjust.works)
submitted 2 weeks ago* (last edited 1 week ago) by ChilledPeppers@sh.itjust.works to c/fediverse@lemmy.world

So, im IP banned from lemmy.world? Or is this cloudflare or smth locking me out? How do I proceed?

I have wanted to leave .world for a while, probably in favour of dbzero, but I would still at least like to delete my account and/or download some data beforehand?

I don't think I did anything wrong, and believe it is a cloudflare thing, but how will I contact the mods, if I cant open their front page to find their emails? Anyways. Any help is appreciated.

Also, sorry if this is the wrong community, but its the only one I know that maybe can help?

Edit 1: I can access the instance if I use a VPN, but I still dont know what to do. This kinda confirms it is cloudflare, but how can I get off their "naughty list"?

Edit the last: it seems to have solved itself after some time. I just used tgis instance for a while, and now its working again.

OP has trouble accessing their account, likely IP or cloudflare related

sorry about the late response, got a lot of stuff going on currently and it seemed like you got useful replies here already anyway when i checked before.

we currently have a rule in place that blocks traffic with too high of a threat score. this rule was implemented before i joined, i'll have to check with the team about the original reason for this and if we want to relax this.

at least the error message should be improved if we can do that, i think that's just returning a static message currently.

I mean, if it gets solved, leaving it up would be better, particularly if the reason for it is something that might happen to someone else

Make sure you mention your lemmy.world username especially if it's a different one

Cloudflare doesn't really have a straightforward way as an end-user to see detailed information about their blocks and such. But I'd recommend checking your IP on Project Honeypot, CF utilizes such lists for some of their WAF stuff.

It is listed there as a mail server with fraudulent activity. I am behind a CGNAT, soaybe I should ask my ISP for a new IP?
