Also very interested to try an ergo.

Current roster includes Keychron Q6 Max, Keychron Q13 max Alice , Keychron Q3 pro SE, RK gaming S98, 8bitDo C64 Edition with matching numpad, Monsgeek M2, and that’s all I can think of right now. I think I’m missing one.

What the hell is a 98% keyboard lol? Like just missing a single key?

I had SUCH a horrible experience with my M2 and that company that I could not in good conscience ever purchase from them again. And I can't even customize the keys because they don't make a frigging JSON for the M2, because F me I guess? And it's still kind glitchy, even after I finally got it into an acceptable configuration.

Anything less than full size/tkl and the keys they cut always end up annoying me.

I have a keychron K8 pro at work and a WASD code at home. I just learned that wasd went out of business the other day and now I’m very sad :( I’ve had my code for over 10 years and I have 0 plans on getting rid of it.

You're kidding me. I've gone through so many mechanical keyboards, even really fancy ones like the CTRL and similar ones from Mass Drop and always come back to my WASD. It was my first and favorite. I guess there's still Leopold.

All those fancy drops always seem to be TKLs which just drives me up a wall. I want my numpad. Why is everyone so butthurt about numpads lately?

I've got one of the SHIFT ones. Unironically DM me if you're interested in buying it. It isn't full size, it drops the nav cluster but keeps the numpad and arrows.

I have new expensive hobbies and I'm considering selling things from my old expensive hobbies lmao.

[–] Reverendender@sh.itjust.works 1 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Oh come on, now you gotta tell me what the new hobbies are

Well I did the math before buying anything. A thank mighty Cthulhu I did, because I need everything I’ve got for the downpayment on my first house in a couple months. So sadly, I will have to pass

Nice. Market is ass right now, but it's always gonna be better to pour your money into a thirty year hole than a bottomless pit with renting. 💜

Yeah, I had never heard of WASD until this very moment. Except for the acronym.

I LOVE my keychron Q1, so whatever the full size version of that is would be my recommendation

[–] Reverendender@sh.itjust.works 1 points 17 hours ago

Agreed, my 2 Qs are beasts, and I love them. NGL though, I hate that the Alice doesn't have a knob.

[–] Nednarb44@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Could probably throw in the keychron v5/v6 (pro). They're very similar to the q line boards, but cheaper

I feel like Keychrons don't have enough fun stuff. I like the LCD on the S98. And I definitely want a knob.

[–] Nednarb44@lemmy.world 3 points 19 hours ago

The LCD is nice to have for sure. The v series does have a knob, or the option for it for sure. I just like that keychron does qmk firmware, and figured the v series was in that low to mid price you mentioned
