I'm going to miss Denise Gough, Elizabeth Dulau, Robert Emms and Stellan Skarsgård. Besides the excellent writing, they were the reason I really enjoyed Andor. 7/10

I binged Glitch. It really had potential, and some fine actors, some good backstories for the characters, but the story and drama was just not good enough put together. Annoyingly it also left a lot of unanswered questions. 5/10

I'm going to give Upright a chance. There's something about Tim Minchin I don't like. Magician type, black nail polish, eyeliner wearing 44 year old self-inserting himself into a show with a 19 year old woman, ehh, it feels off. But I'm hoping to be proven wrong, the score on IMDb seems to suggest it's not bad writing at least.

Andor. Season 2 is really good.

I'm really sad next week is the final arc but all good things must come to an end.

Absolutely. But man, what a ride.

Just watched Glitch, a three-season Australian Netflix show about a handful of people who mysteriously return from the dead. It stars dollar-store Ryan Reynolds, Timu Chris Evans, Wish Simon Pegg, and so-close Glenn Close.

Season 1 felt like Lost. There were all these sciency/supernaturalish mysteries, and it really seemed like either side could be the bad guys. I lost track of exactly when it went off the rails, but by season 3, it was clear they had an end point they needed to get to without bothering to wrap up all the mysteries, and they just recycled the same actions every episode. Disappointing, do not recommend unless you just want something on in the background.

Having watched Glitch now, I can see what you mean. I can't bring myself to give this more than 6/10, and I'm considering lowering it. It reminded me a bit of "The Leftovers" for some reason, just with worse writing.

I'm usually not a horror fan, but I do like me a good Aussie/Kiwi show, so I'll definitely give it a go.

It's much more thriller than horror.

Yeah, classic IMDb not correct genres. I've seen first season already and a few episodes of season 2. I thought season 1 was quite messy, most of the drama came from very bad and lacking communication, like they'd exchage 3 sentences to each other and then race off. Like herding kittens lol.

Second season is much better.I like how the "villains" have this information suck ability, it's like the opposite of bad communication. Interesting.

I'm watching the "no laugh track" version of MASH and finding it much more enjoyable.

I've said it before but Nathan is a genius. The commitment he has to his ideas is... just wild.

Anime: Apothecary Diaries, Dan Da Dan, Delicious in Dungeon, Castlevania (original and Nocturne)

Live Action: (not new) Tales from the Loop, The Expanse, Resident Alien

Sopranos

With the added bonus of the Talking Sopranos podcast between episodes.

Oooooh which season are you on? And have you seen it before?

[–] Trex202@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Season 4 Yes, but like 15 years ago on a laptop. I had no idea that they have it in 4K(ish)

The podcast is amazing too, Michael and Steve are great. So many 5 star guests from the show, cast and crew.

Good season! But then they're all good.

I've just started day of the jackal and I'm gripped. Really hope it stays this quality 🙏

Yeah, we're no longer living in the golden days of TV-shows, there sure are few quality shows and far between them.
