1. Relevant commentary on your own dull life. Posts should be about your own dull, lived experience. This is our most important rule. Direct questions, random thoughts, comment baiting, advice seeking, many uses of "discuss" rarely comply with this rule.

2. Original, Fresh, Meaningful Content.

3. Avoid repetitive topics.

4. This is not a search engine
Use a search engine, a tradesperson, Reddit, friends, a specialist Facebook group, apps, Wikipedia, an AI chat, a reverse image search etc. to answer simple questions or identify objects. Also see rule 1, “comment baiting”.

There are a number of content specific communities with subject matter experts who can help you.

Some other communities to consider before posting:

5. Keep it dull. If it puts us to sleep, it’s on the right track. Examples of likely not dull: jokes, gross stuff (including toes), politics, religion, royalty, illness or injury, killing things for fun, or promotional content. Feel free to post these elsewhere.

6. No hate speech, sexism, or bullying No sexism, hate speech, degrading or excessively foul language, or other harmful language. No othering or dehumanizing of anyone or negativity towards any gender identity.

7. Proofread before posting. Use good grammar and punctuation. Avoid useless phrases. Some examples: - starting a post with "So" - starting a post with pointless phrases, like "I hope this is allowed" or “this is my first post” Only share good quality, cropped images. Do not share screenshots of images; share the original image.

If I had a penny for every time I saw someone post to the internet about buying buckets off of Costco today, I'd have two pennies.

Hello fellow William Osman 2 fan

[–] FQQD@lemmy.ohaa.xyz 1 points 2 months ago

"Gonna collect some rain water and organic matter"

We all do, Holmes. What are the buckets for?

[–] bricklove@midwest.social 25 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I accidentally started a pottery hobby. It began with digging out some garden beds then one thing led to another and now I need a bunch of water to let the natural clay separate from the debris

[–] Retro_unlimited@lemmy.world 14 points 2 months ago (4 children)

How much do they cost? I usually pay about $4-5 per bucket. Unless it’s food safe they cost a bit more.

Are they food safe? (The only food safe ones I found so far are at tractor supply or Amazon)

I don’t know about Costco buckets but I usually stop at a pub and get a bucket from them if I need a food safe one.

Lots of their kitchen stuff comes in them.

[–] Retro_unlimited@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Oh nice, I need to try that. I need so many buckets.

[–] miss_demeanour@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Any mid-size commercial kitchen has buckets. Plus ice cream parlours.

[–] Retro_unlimited@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

Wow thank you! There is a few ice cream parlors in town.

3 pack for $10 bucks when I saw it 2 days ago.

[–] Retro_unlimited@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

Wow that’s a really good price!

[–] KingJalopy@lemm.ee 7 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I bought some food safe ones from Lowe's last week. They were 1 gallon size. Didn't even realize they were food safe until I got them home.

[–] Retro_unlimited@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

Oh wow I didn’t know those were food safe, I have one of them.

[–] bricklove@midwest.social 7 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Oh nice! They were $10 for 3. I wasn't sure if that was actually a good deal. They say "Certified by NSF to Standard #2"

[–] Retro_unlimited@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

That’s a good price! Congrats on the find.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 13 points 2 months ago

Everyone needs a good bucket. Or three.

[–] LesserAbe@lemmy.world 11 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Today I learned Mother's Day is apparently the best time to go to Costco and it not be overwhelmingly crowded

[–] bricklove@midwest.social 5 points 2 months ago

OH YEAH, I even had time to call my mother, brother!

[–] varyingExpertise@feddit.org 4 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Your stores are open on Sundays?

[–] hefty4871@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Where do you live that your store isn't open on Sundays?

[–] varyingExpertise@feddit.org 4 points 2 months ago

Germany. Gas stations and restaurants are open, everything else isn't.

[–] LesserAbe@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Yes, for the most part. Only stores that are more publicly associated with Christianity (just Chick-Fil-A comes to mind) are closed on Sunday.

[–] ramenshaman@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I saw these for the first time less than a week ago. I would love to have a Costco-branded bucket but I absolutely do not need 3 buckets. I don't even really need 1 bucket right now. Someday though...

[–] bricklove@midwest.social 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Keep your eye out for buckets. The first one I acquired must have fallen out of a pickup that turned too quickly. I was super self-conscious when I pulled over to pick it up

[–] varyingExpertise@feddit.org 4 points 2 months ago

"How likely are the people seeing me doing this to meet me again in life" has helped me tremendously in the guilt free acquisition of free range items.

[–] Sanguine@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 2 months ago

Also bought some of these today

[–] Lucien@mander.xyz 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

How does the price compare to the Home Depot or Lowe's buckets?

[–] bricklove@midwest.social 3 points 2 months ago (2 children)

It was $10 for a 3 pack. Something tells me this is actually a shit price but I can't imagine needing more than this.

[–] CosmicTurtle0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 2 months ago

Last time I bought a bucket at Home Depot it was $5 or so.

$10 / 3 is a good price.

[–] Lucien@mander.xyz 4 points 2 months ago

Yeah, I think they're like $4 or so for a single at Home Depot or Lowe's

[–] southsamurai@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 months ago

Hey, a stack of buckets is a cheap way to have a very versatile set of tools or parts for a home

[–] Today@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

Do they have lids? Lowes charges $4 for the bucket plus $3 for the lid.

[–] ikidd@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

And here I am, with stacks of buckets I try to get rid of every year. I probably have 200 of them out behind the shop right now.
