My dad died at the age of 79. Just sayin'.

Looking forward to opening the most expensive bottle of bubbly that I've ever bought sooner rather than later.

And to add, I'm in Australia, an Australian citizen, although English born. Never hated a person so much. Oh hang on, there was this Maggie Thatcher woman once upon a time.

Sadly from his health reports, it's clear they've got him on Ozempic and probably a half dozen drugs we've never heard of to keep things running. His cholesterol is down, his weight is down. They want another 10-15 years out of the old bag. They might get it. Which means we might get it.

[–] DiaDeLosMuertos@aussie.zone 1 points 16 hours ago

Hey hey don't be coming here with all that kind of positive news. Lol.

Well as we know drugs can have a devastating effect on our health, so here's still hoping. I mean he's a bloody old man that's never done any exercise. Surely he's on his way out.

Surely......

[–] ansiz@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Well Ozempic kills people, it's not without side effects and complications. https://www.jdsupra.com/legalnews/ozempic-other-diabetes-weight-loss-1906318/

Plus you can definitely see in some interviews this time in office Trump will audibly wheeze a lot if he's walking around and talking.

There's a lengthy-ass wikipedia page on the self-proclaimed bible loving christian man's rapey behaviour, he's a fake christian using it for votershare amongst conservatives.

[–] DiaDeLosMuertos@aussie.zone 9 points 2 days ago

I was a kid that enjoyed our milk break in my younger years. Such a lovely memory. Oh I grew up on a council estate too. Not exactly the kind of person that Maggie looked after really.

I mean, you have rinehart, and you're also the country that foisted Rupert murdoch on the planet.

Let the billionaire class fight each other

[–] MegaUltraChicken@lemmy.world 96 points 2 days ago (3 children)

I'm pretty certain Taylor Swift probably has enough sway/numbers to take the White House if she wanted to.

At this point, anything is better than orange

[–] Carvex@lemmy.world 25 points 2 days ago (3 children)

I'd vote for anything that doesn't shit it pants hourly.

I'd vote for any adult without brain damage.

I'd vote for Liz Truss's cabbage.

I mean, she’s managed her image and business this long. I think politics is a good fit for her skillset.

As is the power she’d wield over the Democrat Party. They would worship the ground she walks on (in an attempt for some of that celebrity to rub off).

…But the election would be gruesomely dirty. I can only imagine all the shit that would get thrown at her.

[–] RowRowRowYourBot@sh.itjust.works 11 points 2 days ago (4 children)

She has little education beyond high school. The president needs to be better educated than she is.

[–] cowfodder@lemmy.world 39 points 2 days ago (14 children)

That probably makes her better educated than the current POTUS.

A democratic leader needs to accurately represent their constituents and surround themselves with knowledgeable experts. No matter how well-schooled someone is, no one person can know everything involved in running a country.

[–] DiaDeLosMuertos@aussie.zone 10 points 2 days ago

As our Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott once said, "No man is a suppository". Lol.

She’ll have a full cabinet, policy crafted by an army, and practical experience under her belt. She’s clearly charismatic. AFAIK she’s not anti science or conspiratorial or anything… So what if she’s not a Harvard Graduate? As much as I’d like an STEM PhD in the White House, compared to most alternatives, I almost view that as a plus.

And again, she will have so much power. It would be like Trump, where she can swing unpopular stances through sheer force of will (like Trump is doing in the current Middle East visit: https://www.axios.com/2025/05/15/trump-israel-syria-policy-reverse-biden )

imagine being 80 and throwing a footstomping toddler tantrum over a pop star teen idol not voting for you

[–] Bot@sub.community 25 points 2 days ago (1 children)

And she’s dating a jock in NFL, unlike Trump’s wife who obviously is after his money, sad.

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 9 points 2 days ago

Trump don't care, it's not like that gross little orange Toad of his works at his age. As long as he has his trophy wife, fawning sycophants, and that one crazy chick to throw herself at him like a bitch in heat with spongiform brain disease, he's fine to live out the rest of his putrid existence ruining things for everybody else in order to glorify himself. People like him make me wish I could be religious, because he absolutely deserves to burn in hell along with the rest of the monsters working for him.

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 39 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (2 children)

Been saying this for a couple of years. It would be child's play to push this man into total narcissistic collapse.

Imagine if pop stars, actors, world leaders, media personalities, tech bro billionaires, all hit him at once, anyone who has the ear of millions. Just today he's had a mini meltdown over Tay Tay (from months ago) and Bruce Springsteen.

World leaders would be especially effective as he considers himself a peer. Those people baiting him up would take him back to his school days where the rich-kid in-crowd bullied him. Gods, just imagine if someone like Macron came out and said, (imagine French accent) "He thinks he is a leader, part of our club. He is only a small child with a cult and will never belong among serious leaders. His wife will not touch him, but we can she see how she make eyes, no? In front of the old cuckold!" And then have a dozen others come out and say the same.

Can you imagine the total hissing, spitting, pissing frenzy that would follow? Trump would be unable to do anything but scream, his mind unable to even attempt to govern. Shut him down hard enough and the Cabinet would be forced to pull the 25th Amendment on him.

I should lead this thing.

[–] iAvicenna@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago (1 children)

that was the whole point of keeping the "Trump is Elon's bitch gig" going. wonder why that stopped

[–] iknowitwheniseeit@lemmynsfw.com 10 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Because Elon rage quit the "let's destroy the government and funnel more cash to me" game.

[–] AFaithfulNihilist@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago (4 children)

Elon didn't go anywhere. Him leaving was theater in the hopes that his stocks would stop cratering.

[–] gamer@lemm.ee 2 points 1 day ago

He didn't quit, he just stepped out of the spotlight. It needs to be poibted back at him to bring that Tesla stock price down again (although that's probably unnecessary woth their sales collapse since even the most brain rotted investors will sell once bankruptcy hits)

[–] DiaDeLosMuertos@aussie.zone 13 points 2 days ago

Now that would be wonderful to witness.

( Hey mate, I think you should have a look at that sentence about his wife, I think auto correct got you, cheers. )

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 25 points 2 days ago (1 children)

he called the current leader of syria, an attractive man.

Isn't she tge biggest star in the world? Does old donny not know who Taylor swift is?

[–] RowRowRowYourBot@sh.itjust.works 26 points 2 days ago (14 children)

She’s still the top grossing concert act, top selling pop star, and considered a style icon. Im fairly positive by most metrics Taylor is still hot.

Almost like attention from Trump is a total buzzkill.

That’s the thing about a pig. You wrestle with it, even if you win, you get dirty.

[–] brucethemoose@lemmy.world 17 points 2 days ago (2 children)

How is Trump showing up on Bluesky.

Also… is this real?

[–] 9point6@lemmy.world 12 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

I think it's a screenshot my friend

As for if it's real, I'm not gonna visit his cesspool to find out

I’m not a fan of Tay Tay, but I would absolutely love to see her crush Tump Tump. In fact, I would become an instant fan if she does.

[–] UnderFreyja@lemmy.ca 15 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

Wait till you see his tweet about Bruce Springsteen, he's particularly crazy today

[–] miss_demeanour@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The fucking parentheses comments. I just don't get it, I'm at a complete loss for words. What the fuck is going on in the US?

[–] MuskyMelon@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Doesn't POTUS have more important shit to do like read the daily security briefing?

[–] Onionguy@lemm.ee 6 points 2 days ago

You think he reads?
