"A lot of people ask me: 'Father Moses, how can I increase my manliness to absurd levels?'"

In a YouTube video, a priest is championing a form of virile, unapologetic masculinity.

Skinny jeans, crossing your legs, using an iron, shaping your eyebrows, and even eating soup are among the things he derides as too feminine.

There are other videos of Father Moses McPherson - a powerfully built father of five - weightlifting to the sound of heavy metal.

He was raised a Protestant and once worked as a roofer, but now serves as a priest in the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia (ROCOR) in Georgetown, Texas, an offshoot of the mother church in Moscow.

Toxic masculinity is a huge problem. The resulting insecurities created and maintained by design make men vulnerable to cults like this. The masterbation thing is classic Christian grooming

Russia to decriminalise domestic violence as Vladimir Putin bows to ultra-conservative pressure

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/russia-decriminalise-domestic-violence-vladimir-putin-ultra-conservative-family-laws-a7541371.html

(my bold)

The new legislation marks a rapid volte-face by the Russian government. It was only in July 2016 that the Duma adopted new amendments to criminalise violence against relatives, following a recommendation by the Russian Supreme Court to decriminalise less-serious battery among general citizens but not among members of the same family.

Those measures were contested bitterly by the Russian Orthodox Church and by right-wing politicians, with senator Yelena Mizulina stating that "a man beating his wife is less offensive than when a woman humiliates a man.”

I wear skinny jeans, cross my legs, iron my clothes, pluck hair and eat soup. I guess that makes me a lesbian by his logic? My wife will be surprised to know we immaculately conceived our two children. I'm a dad, these fuckers don't get to tell me how to be feminine if I so desire. When I want to dress up as someone without any thing I recognize as masculinity, I'll dress up as this (probably pedo) priest.

"Show me one saint in the history of the Church who ever blessed any kind of birth control," Father Moses says. As for masturbation - or what the church calls self-abuse - the priest condemns it as "pathetic and unmanly".

There is nothing "manly" about christianity. What a bunch of bottom feeders.

I sense a massive e/mail campaign of goatse and related imagery sent to this "manly" man.

And for added visibility:

This is his work.

I'm gonna punch this dude in the face in skinny jeans, holding an iron and sipping soup from a camelpack. Fuck this guy. Masculinity is more than a pattern of things you do. Like alchemy it takes deep knowledge and understanding, and at the end of it all you discover its only half of a bigger equation.
