I've seen those and thought it looked like fun. But not quite enough fun in the potential "cost/benefit" analysis. Mostly it's just hanging out, sitting around.

the british have to be the most over sensitive people on the planet, for some of the shit I've seen them complain about that made the news cycle.

How did we go from one dumb tweet picked by a "journalist", to "what's wrong with all the british people and why are they the most sensitive people on the planet"? 🤔

Did any of them have those dumb little, loud ass engines attached? Because, if so, I understand a little more.

I don’t think so. The other article literally just mentions this person lives near a paraglider school. I’m assuming beginners don’t fiddle round with paramotors.

Gotcha. I was just somewhere and didn't realize those things existed until I heard one. It's like the inventor of gas powered leaf blowers just wanted to ruin some more people's days.

There are some electric ones but yeah the gas ones are an absolute horror.

To be fair this did happen 10 days after the October 7 attacks where paragliders attacked small villages

[–] BrainInABox@lemmy.ml 1 points 5 days ago (1 children)

The paragliders were used to attack Israeli military bases.

[–] Greg@lemmy.ca 0 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Paragliders were also used to attack civilian targets like Kfar Aza. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-67065205

Jesus, how can you read that fascist slop without vomitting:

The residents of the Israeli border communities expected periodic rocket attacks after Hamas seized control of Gaza in 2007. They accepted the danger as the price of country life in a tight knit community which still had traces of the pioneer spirit of early Zionist communities.

The article is full of horrific stuff like this.
