The doubling-down on oil and using big-government to curb free-market renewables is a conscious choice from the UCP legislature and cabinet. Alberta has no one in Canada to blame but themselves for that.

Sure, but if they said that aloud instead of continuing to deflect, they'd basically lose their whole identity.
Alberta is a very sunny place, including, and especially useful, in winter. Prairies overall have few trees to cut down for solar.
Solar can create a lot of jobs in addition to being cheaper energy even in Alberta. Rulership that is an oligarchist protection racket shouldn't be allowed to extort the rest of us. Nationalizing the oligarchy is the most, arguably only, productive communist policy. Democracy doesn't work when they get to fix the outcomes.
Petroleum producers and refiners pocketed after-tax profit of $192 billion over the last four years alone. That is four times more than in the entire 2010s.
Under the Trudeau Government, oil production reached the highest level in Canadian history
For the fourth consecutive year, production of crude oil and equivalent products reached a record high, up 4.3% from 2023
In fact, Justin Trudeau opened a brand new pipeline:
The Trans Mountain pipeline expansion began operation in May 2024, providing Alberta crude oil with increased access to Pacific Ocean terminals and markets abroad.
Crude oil producers were optimistic about the new infrastructure: from May to December, total crude oil movements from Alberta to British Columbia more than tripled (+367.4%)
Are some Albertans not aware of this? !!!!
Are some Albertans not aware of this? !!!!
They are not capable of seeing anything positive that anyone named Trudeau has ever done.
"Yeah, but they forced him to"
I think that's literally what I've heard on that one. There's not much point arguing once they can just make up an alternate timeline on the spot to fit their conclusion.
Alberta: 119 years of making bad decisions, going on 120!
Getting onboard with healthcare early wasn't bad.
Considering they've been on the forefront of privatizing and dismantling said system for decades... 🤷
It's still way more public here than in most provinces. Or at least, moreso than Ontario and BC.
It doesn't matter though, right? Self-effacement isn't an emotion a crowd can do. Nenshi's actually been falling behind in the polls because the strategy has been a winner, and captured a lot of media attention.
