I’m only middle age but now I wake up early just to be conscious of not being at work. It’s a better trade because you can dream without interruption.
I prefer the night, I'm one of those night owl freaks by nature.
I hear ya. I work two days / two nights and I thrive at night and zombie all day when possible. But the draw to have a day of awareness is enough for me to get off in the morning after 12 and stay up until late.
Gotta wake up at 4 to be ready to leave by 5 to make it to work by 6 to be off by 2:30
Similar. Up at 3a to get to work at 5:30. Done by 12:30p but my hours get rounded up to 8hrs/day.
Bed by 8.
You really don't wanna see grandpa when he sleeps past 10:40.

4 is pretty early but 10:40am is also just pretty late to wake up unless you're like, a teenager or something (or work odd hours). A lot of the day is already gone by then.
IMO it's nicest when you can keep your waking hours relatively close to the time the sun is up.
