[–] mesamunefire@piefed.social 52 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It's a game of did I make them salty or did I post something people loved lol.

Does this not stress you out? It's stressing me out!

[–] cm0002@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Got damn, is that like that every morning for you, or do you just not open your inbox LMAO 😂

[–] FundMECFSResearch@lemmy.blahaj.zone 12 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

I kinda just stopped opening it. I check most my comments and posts anyways.

But idk sometimes I post something I know will make some people (bigots, tankies, or capitalists) mad so I kind just prefer not to check.

So yeah. That 700 is like one month of work :)

[–] user224@lemmy.sdf.org 3 points 1 week ago

We're the polar opposites. I used email from m.kuku.lu on Lemmy because their app gets me notifications immediately while Gmail and Aol take a while. I also get all email notifications on my MiBand.

[–] lena@gregtech.eu 4 points 1 week ago

Holy shit, that's quite impressive. Gotta crank up those numbers!

[–] blackn1ght@feddit.uk 15 points 1 week ago (1 children)

When you're new to Lemmy but you make one pro Ukraine comment on ml/grad/hexbear.

[–] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 week ago

Obviously you're not educated enough.

a select few

Only few are allowed into the inner circles of cm0002.

[–] cm0002@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Officially, I just try to avoid replying just for the sake of replying.

Unofficially, there may or may not be an illemmyminati

[–] OpenStars@piefed.social 1 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Test to find out if I am part of the illemmyminati.

I can haz reply?

I will sweeten the offer by adding the strongest Lemmy currency in existence:

[–] OpenStars@piefed.social 1 points 5 days ago

No! It goes jeans first, then Taylor Swift's jet, then back to the beanening, and you call yourself an illemmyminati, get it together man!? 😜

[–] Gullible@sh.itjust.works 10 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I wish there were a way to mute notifications on posts alone. I always forget that I posted something, and the number of seemingly spontaneous replies makes me wonder whether I’ve pissed several people off.

[–] OpenStars@piefed.social 2 points 5 days ago

To elaborate: one of the top features that I switched to PieFed for was the ability to choose to either receive or arguably more importantly NOT receive notifications on pretty much everything. Communities, users, individual posts, comment replies, you name it. There is a little bell icon that you simply press to toggle and then receive - or don't - the replies from then on out. Reverse the decision at any time. Or there's a listing somewhere to clean up old stuff.

I accidentally made a comment on Hexbear.net once, and then again on lemmygrad.ml, each of which triggered replies to me for WEEKS and WEEKS afterwards. I almost quit Lemmy after that:-(. Actually, technically I suppose I did! (I am writing this to you from PieFed after all:-).

[–] Sunshine@lemmy.ca 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)
[–] mesamunefire@piefed.social 4 points 1 week ago

Indeed. And comments.

[–] swizzlestick@lemmy.zip 10 points 1 week ago

I jest. Love seeing you around. Everywhere ❤

[–] RedSnt 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Every once in a while I'm reminded that it's ok to not have an opinion on stuff. And it's usually when I wake up and log on and see all the replies that I get a little anxiety adrenaline rush: "oh shit, what did I do..?".

[–] LemmyIsReddit2Point0@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

You made a reasonable comment grounded in truth but one word was slightly incorrect so now everything you said is invalid.

[–] Asetru@feddit.org 5 points 1 week ago

What does that have to do with my weight?

[–] TachyonTele@piefed.social 5 points 1 week ago

I'll try to respond to them until they're just repeated comments. I hate those. Lemmys not that big. If you're too lazy to scroll a small amount before commenting im not going to bother replying to you.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 4 points 1 week ago (4 children)

The higher the number on the notification button, the more dopamine I receive.

[–] BeamBeamCable@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 week ago

Take this!

Dopamine BLAST!!!

[–] MBM@lemmings.world 3 points 1 week ago

The trick is to never mark your messages as read

[–] BigBananaDealer@lemm.ee 2 points 1 week ago

its why i post daily

[–] Itdidnttrickledown@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

If something like that happens to me I'm just clicking Mark all as read. Edit: Never post when you are asleep.

[–] Beacon@fedia.io 3 points 1 week ago

Fuck that maga asshole.

[–] finitebanjo@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I mostly do comments, easier to manage.

P.S. Did you know Snoop Dawg performed for the Trump crypto Pre-Inauguration Party?

[–] Walican132@lemmy.today 2 points 1 week ago (2 children)

If you’re not going to reply why even post.

[–] cm0002@lemmy.world 19 points 1 week ago (1 children)

For one, there shouldn't be a requirement for a poster to also constantly reply to all replies. It's cool when it happens, and I do it myself from time to time when I have the energy to do so

All contributions to the Lemmy-verse, no matter how small or how many replies the OP does, are welcome. It's important to attracting more users

For 2, by "select few" I mean as in something that actually contributes to the convo rather than just replying for the sake of replying because that's how you end up with super generic replies that nowadays people wonder if it's an LLM writing it

[–] Walican132@lemmy.today 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Oh man I was just shitposting I wasn’t expecting a response. Please don’t feel like I was calling you out or anything.

[–] cm0002@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Lmao you gotta do the shitpost/sarcasm tag "/s" text is notoriously difficult to tell if someone is just "playing around" or being serious the shorter it is 😂

Especially because I actually run into that kind of mentality unironically fairly frequently

[–] Walican132@lemmy.today 6 points 1 week ago

Yeah sorry again. Also thought this was the shitpost sub and not generic memes. I’m just off my game today I guess. I hope you have a good day though.

[–] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 week ago

Sometimes I'll just up or down vote so they know someone at least read it.

[–] kux@lemm.ee 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

your inbox would be more manageable if you stopped spamming reposts all day

[–] cm0002@lemmy.world 20 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (7 children)

Only a portion is crossposts from .ml comms to non-.ml comms to grow off.ml alternatives and reduce .ml's influence because of the toxic behavior of its admins so that other instance admins in the future can make a defederation decision without having to worry about cutting off from "big .ml comms"

I aim for a minimum ratio of 1:2 crosspost to "organic" posts so a majority of my posts are in fact my own lmao

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 19 points 1 week ago (1 children)

please do not stop spamming reposts

[–] cm0002@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago
[–] cloudless@piefed.social 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Please continue. We need to move away from tankies.

[–] cm0002@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Lol I will, just remember to spread the message to boycott posting/commenting/voting on .ml comms. That will go a long way towards it!
