looks good, nice if someone could provide their stylus use experience
If all you need is something to draw on, get a wacom tablet and hook it up to a laptop. Wacom drivers are in the linux kernel.
In college I've been taking notes on a screenless drawing tablet, its not too bad taking out a laptop and plugging it in. It doesn't take up much space on my desk if I put the tablet on my keyboard.
Alternatively, you may also be able to get a microsoft surface laptop working on linux
XP-pen has much more cost-effective options that are just as good nowadays since wacom hasn't innovated in like 15 years lol.
They also work out of the box in Linux, but for all of the shortcuts, they also have driver packages for every distribution and if it isn't available, support will package the newest version for you (in my experience) in your chosen format and then send it to you and update the driver downloads.
The XP Pen Deco Pro Gen2 is an absolute beast for a drawing tablet.
XPPen also has a android drawing pad but that is normal android I think.
If OP wants the drawing tablet experience with a screen, they can also get XPPen Artist Pro display tablet series which of the few artists I know in real life, are what most of them use.
An actual drawing pad is much better than even an IPad for drawing, and you can also use whatever program you want (like Krita), not just the neutered programs that come on iOS or android.

Apple is the least bad + most functional option out there.
Nothing else will go further in being least bad, unless you are willing to completely sacrifice functionality and usability.
Apple at least walks the walk of protecting user privacy because they aren’t dependent on non-hardware, non-app-store revenue (as in, selling user’s data). Google is absolutely dependent on revenue from selling user data because their hardware and App Store revenue is almost insignificant in comparison.
I guess linux tablet could be an alternative?

- Of course I don't have any proof, but I would assume it runs camera and microphone without us knowing even when the network is disabled. The data is collected and processed locally and send to apple server when network is enabled

I don't disagree with your premise though. It's just incredibly difficult to get to Apple/Wacom levels of stylus precision and software refinement without a massive budget.
I mean, just look at GIMP: hugely capable software, but horrendous UX/UI...

I believe it, I would love an open source alternative. But like I said, any company/group/foundation/etc willing to pull this off would need a massive budge to get it to Wacom/Apple level of refinement. And by massive, I'm talking millions at the least in order to pay devs, do marketing (because people need to buy it to be viable), and probably a lot of other things I haven't considered.

hmm.. the only other choice i can think of is a surface pro with linux installed. I have a Surface Pro 4 and its stylus works pretty well with the surface-linux kernel, but it isn't as smooth as an iPad.
may I ask how is the precision of pressure sensor?
sorry, it feels good enough for me but I'm not a professional at all so idk. btw DON'T get the Surface Pro 4 that I have, it has numerous hardware issues like battery swelling and screen shaking. I'm thinking a more recent surface pro or lenovo yoga would do..
Anything more than general stylus use on a Pixel tablet with GrapheneOS has been very hit or miss with me... aggravating. I fall back to my 6 year old iPad even when I just need to annotate notes. l firmly believe it's the fault of the hardware.

Get a Lenovo Yoga, install the OS of your choice.
I forget the model, but there's a Yoga where the keyboard separates from the screen.
HP also makes a pc tablet (forget the model numbers) with no keyboard - businesses uses them as POS or client-intake systems.
Both if these will blow away any "tablet", as you can run a full OS and use apps of your choice.

I got a used Yoga Gen6 recently for not too much, really happy with it
iodéOS has official support for the Galaxy Tab S5e, which is on the list you linked. I own one but I don't use it for art so I can't comment any further.

The support is fine. It doesn't have 5G because it is not a 5G device (and one model, the WiFi one which I have, does not have any cellular capability). It doesn't support VoLTE or bootloader locking because it is a Samsung device (you always lose these features with Samsung devices unless the ROM is based on OneUI). It doesn't support the automatic iodéOS installer because, again, it is a Samsung device - you have to use Heimdall. I'm not 100% sure about the firmware bit. I believe that is referencing whether the ROM includes the latest manufacturer firmware update as well, but I can't say for sure.
