For me it depends. I've deleted my Reddit account entirely. Gone with the wind! And I've registered a Lemmy account. Then I realized how much more life time I've have without Reddit. Later I've realized I miss some specialized subs for retro gaming here. This is a much bigger community on Reddit. But Lemmy is growing and I hope what I'm missing finds its way to the Fediverse soon.

I'm staying. I haven't liked reddit for a while now.
Absolutely. I'm on a few instances with different moods/themes, and I toggle between them depending on what I am interested in at the moment (sciences, programming and tech, ...).
It has already entirely replaced Reddit for me. It's much nicer here.
yes
Yes, as long as Lemmy gets over its growing pains. Regardless, I won't be going back to Reddit unless they actually listen to their users (but they won't).
Yes!
I'm still on the fence. I've been having a lot of issues with lemmy after creating an account
Totally understandable. What issues have you been facing? For me, the web sockets issue with the feed has kept me to browsing primarily on mobile. Once that is fixed I should be fine.
I don't know about Lemmy specifically, but I'm definitely all in on decentralized, ActivityPub-based social media.
Feel like we're about to see an explosion in ActivityPub interfaces, and if that happens, it's probably inevitable someone makes a UX novel or innovative enough to pull me away from Lemmy or some other 1:1 reddit clone.
honestly I don't see any reason to leave granted I just joined lemmy and i must say with its decentralized nature its a bit confusing to wrap my head around how to use lemmy to get a redditesk experience and with every lemmy site looking very similar I have gotten disoriented with witch lemmy site I was on and I can see signing up for each site being a bit of a pain especially when you say get a new computer but ultimately I feel I got the hang of lemmy and started making comments just as id normally do on reddit in a single afternoon I cant wait to see how lemmy evolves and grows assuming it does grow
I think so, but still waiting to see the first shittymorph meme show up on here to cement my position.
I plan on it if more people come over and the communities grow. So far I have been checking the sub-Reddits I am subscribed to for info about them migrating to Lemmy
I'm never going back. I like Lemmy. I hope reddit dies a sad death. If Lemmy didn't exist, I probably wouldn't have left reddit. I see much higher quality content here.
couldn’t agree more, interactions are meaningful, content is actually good. Didn’t realize how bad reddit got over the last decade.
Yeah, feels like a bunch of people sitting around hanging out. Like it's 91 again.
The "brand" of this place sure is odd... "lemmy world"... Need some backstory to this branding choice. Unsure if that can make me view it differently.
If the subreddits that I am usually lurking on have migrated here then I'll have no problem with staying on Lemmy. And if there's a mobile app (preferably on Android) for browsing Lemmy (and the fediverse in general) then even more reason for me to stay here.
But for a definitive answer? Yes
Not sure but I will be staying on a federated reddit-like site. I'm more leaning towards this over kbin though.
Will I ever go back to Reddit? Even if hell freezes, no.
I haven't explored anything in the fediverse other than lemmy yet. May I ask what the differences are? Why might yiu choose kbin over lemmy? Can you explain how the two play together?
Yes
Leaning a little towards kbin but im active on lemmy and kbin! Never going back to reddit though.NEVER EVER
All it needs is the users. And we're already here.
Yep and once I know that the mobile app is stable enough too, then I'll just completely migrate to lemmy.
May I ask what app you're using? I'm on Jerboa and it's pretty good, but not as comfy as RIF lol
i'll stay on lemmy once more of the popular content extends beyond "lemmy vs reddit". I'm liking lemmy a lot and with better mobile apps, it'll encourage me to stay.
Yes, I hope I can use it instead of reddit altogether
Yesterday, you said tomorrow... Don't let your dream be dreams. Do IT!
@fm0d @vreraan Haha, this was basically my journey over to #Linux 😂 And frankly, it was also my journey over to the #Fediverse as a whole! One day I just decided that enough was enough, and I had to practice what I preached.
So here I am, Linux, Fediverse and all!
Looks like it. Reminds me of old message/discussion boards so far, with actual real people.
I think i will be sticking around. Personally i like the smaller community and be able to grow things more organically. Personally i do wish it were a bit more organized and i am really going to miss some of the more niche subreddits
Yes! Lemmy feels like internet felt 20 years ago. Better quality conversations, no spam, stupid comments and constant auto promotion. I just hope it stays that way. Whatever happens, I am not returning to reddit.
No
Downvote to disagree, upvote to agree
Is there any way to do actual Polls with Lemmy?
