We aren't. Our largest producing companies just think that patriotism is a cool brand that will get them traction, attention, and brand-devotion. It's very ew.

[–] Nayfun@lemmy.world 4 points 3 hours ago

Wow! Such original! So make fun!

[–] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 5 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

They have Internet in Europe?

[–] buttnugget@lemmy.world 1 points 52 minutes ago (1 children)

I once reminded a worthless European dumbfuck that the US invented the internet, and he could only reply with “Did you though?”

[–] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 2 points 47 minutes ago

To be fair, they did invent the WWW, which

  1. Few people can even tell apart from the Internet
  2. Is by far the most popular application of it
[–] deathtoidiots@lemmings.world -4 points 1 hour ago (2 children)

Americans are inherently suppremacists. They only care about foreigners as long as it's politically convenient for them.

Just check all the idiots being mad at genocide protest voters.

If I have to chose between genocide in America and fascism here, well, let's just say I will take the rational choice too

[–] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 4 points 1 hour ago

claims a generalization about people from a specific country is supremacist and racist

says some pretty supremacist and racist shit

[–] daggermoon@lemmy.world 4 points 1 hour ago

I'm a supremacist? I go out of my way not to generalize the entire population of countries I don't particuraly like because I know there are good people in every country on Earth. So either you believe all Americans are shit or you're just a fucking idiot. I'm curious which it is.

[–] NigelFrobisher@aussie.zone 1 points 3 hours ago

And no wonder with this administration!

[–] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 58 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

so instead of making a post about Europe you made another post about America?

plonker

[–] moonlight@fedia.io 16 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah I feel like I see way more posts/comments complaining about Americans than ones by Americans being obnoxious or self centered.

[–] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 6 points 12 hours ago

I've noticed a large upswing of "fuck Americans" posts recently too.

[–] not_that_guy05@lemmy.world 7 points 11 hours ago

Wait, is there suppose to be something else?

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 15 points 15 hours ago

You know you can start your own lemmy instance for EU centric topics right.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 12 points 15 hours ago

I would, but this post is about America, so I can't make it about anything else.

[–] morphballganon@mtgzone.com 13 points 16 hours ago (3 children)

Should the rest of the world have ignored Germany in the '30s?

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 6 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

You can say the same thing about every region of the world. Why does Europe just ignore African and South American news?

[–] morphballganon@mtgzone.com 2 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Do those places present a threat to civil rights and democracy?

[–] AgentOrangesicle@lemmy.world 1 points 43 minutes ago

I mean, yes, just not immediately to us, right?

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 3 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

It didn't go so well when they did.

[–] DesolateMood@lemmy.zip 2 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

That's the point they're making

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 3 points 14 hours ago

I was agreeing.

[–] Codpiece@feddit.uk 3 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

[–] monkeyslikebananas2@lemmy.world 2 points 11 hours ago

Just do one of those tickytocks!

[–] doomcanoe@sh.itjust.works 3 points 16 hours ago

[–] FeelzGoodMan420@eviltoast.org 5 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

America bad, amirite? Seriously can we stop with these America bad shitposts? I bet all the Americans here are also tired of seeing American shit everywhere too.

[–] AgentOrangesicle@lemmy.world 1 points 34 minutes ago

90's_sitcom_canned_laughter.wav We're boiling in our own stupidity. For many of us, posts like this don't even phase us any more, but thanks for looking after our sensitivities.

[–] Scavenger_Solardaddy@lemmy.ml 4 points 15 hours ago

[–] SoftestSapphic@lemmy.world 4 points 15 hours ago (2 children)

[–] dan69@lemmy.world 4 points 16 hours ago

Says it pre-America week!!

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@lemmy.world 102 points 1 day ago (10 children)

I like how this meme said America twice proving that it is the greatest nation on earth and probably the universe.

[–] rc__buggy@sh.itjust.works 57 points 1 day ago (5 children)

I appreciate how the europoor made this meme about America.

USA! USA!

the poorest europoor is now Hungary. What 20 years of autocrat oppression does to a nation (I really hope you can beat his party at next elections, good luck from Germany <3)

im sure theres plenty of non English speaking communities that never mention anything US related for you to browse

[–] GoddessGundy@lemmy.world 5 points 18 hours ago

Will do sir.

  • Sincerely, Poor bitch trying to fucking off even more for this poor guy for some reason.
[–] cRazi_man@europe.pub 18 points 1 day ago (10 children)

Lemmy has been one of the best places online for toning down the American emphasis (although I think my blacklist keywords filters help a lot with that.... Highly recommended).

Lemmy has better European/Australian representation, but there isn't much Asian or African representation though.

[–] zaphod@sopuli.xyz 20 points 1 day ago (4 children)

Honestly no, I think it's worse here. I blocked so many communities because they're just about US politics, but that stuff is still everywhere, even in generic meme communities.

[–] Lv_InSaNe_vL@lemmy.world 9 points 19 hours ago

It's not even Americans talking about American politics either haha
