This is not really "mildly infuriating" and you should make the link point to the article, not to a screenshot from it.

This is more than mildly infuriating imo...

Whoever came up with that stupid word filter and decided to follow through on it without proper human review that the filter matched what they meant to find, is pretty trans-intelligent.

I have tremendous respect for the heroic citizens of Penistone.

Yes it's very common, which is why everyone of even mild intelligence knows to check the results of a plain full text search.

This is what happens when the stupid try to manage the smart.

Soviet Union shit. Republicans have become the Maoist party

[–] Nougat@fedia.io -2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Soviet Union ... Maoist ...

Uhh

[–] grue@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Who cares? It's not as if the dipshits who need to hear it would know the difference anyway.

[–] Nougat@fedia.io 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Conflating two very different political groups seems par for the course.

They both commanded ideological purity among their people via threat of state violence

These motherfuckers never even learned what a prefix was in 4th grade.

[–] amotio@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

Wow, that's so stupid. Absurdistan looks more and more like a documentary.

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

That's how fucking stupid they who are enforcing this garbage are. Word processors have for decades allowed searching for "whole words only", which would stop these words from being flagged. The tech exists, they're just too stupid and lazy to implement it.

I have the same complaint against anyone using banned word lists, including Reddit, who does the same damn thing.

[–] foggy@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

America, so great, wow.

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 5 points 1 day ago

I lost funding because I was attempting to revive the transatlantic accent for use in films.

/this was a joke.

[–] kn0wmad1c@programming.dev 5 points 1 day ago
foreach (word in researchPaper) {
   if (word.ToLower().StartsWith("trans")) {
      shouldGiveFunding = false;
   }
}

They will do nothing about this until crypto transfers are banned....

[–] fluxion@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

[–] griff@lemmings.world 1 points 1 day ago
