[–] Ediacarium@feddit.org 88 points 2 weeks ago (4 children)

This is disgusting. Who enters dates in month/day/year order?

Wake me up when Septempril ends

[–] codapine@lemmy.zip 11 points 2 weeks ago

Sounds like a medicine I shouldn't take before asking my doctor if it's right for me.

Hmm. A bit redundant.

[ j ] [ uly ] [ y ]

Shoulda just been [ ul ].

[–] drangus@piefed.social 13 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

The blank options solve that

[–] mcqtom@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago

I'm not saying it doesn't work. I'm saying it's not good.

Almost perfect. 0/10

[–] fubarx@lemmy.world 20 points 2 weeks ago

I unironically love this. Of course it isn't practical in the least, but I love it.

[–] genuineparts@infosec.pub 13 points 2 weeks ago

Managust, the manliest of months.

[–] Deathray5@lemmynsfw.com 13 points 2 weeks ago

12 options as 21. At least it counts as lines of code for a performance review

[–] crazycraw@crazypeople.online 12 points 2 weeks ago

febroctorch has the best weather in Argentina on Tuesdays

[–] lugal@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 2 weeks ago

Febroctobus

[–] finitebanjo@lemmy.world 12 points 2 weeks ago

Might be a decent way to sort out bots, actually.

[–] dejected_warp_core@lemmy.world 11 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

It's basically the UI equivalent of this:

Yes, it's a fully-functional date picker and also deviously, wildly, uncomfortably outside of aesthetic norms. Also, there's a lots of fun, invalid combinations of input outside of the usual "February 30th" shenanigans.

Why yes, that's my birthday: the 32nd of Septunepril. What's the problem?

[–] rustydrd@sh.itjust.works 11 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Decoctorch sounds kind of cool though. Anyone up for some calendar reform?

For a truly peak UI make the text very light gray on a white background, in the thinnest font possible.

[–] wise_pancake@lemmy.ca 11 points 2 weeks ago

This is a repost from last japril.

[–] teft@piefed.world 11 points 2 weeks ago

Novemy showers bring Septanugust flowers.

At least that's what my grandma would say.

Funny month names are all well and good, but the only ones you can actually spell here are:

January, March, May, September, November, and December.

Otherwise, it's

Febranuary, Japril, Juney, Julyber, Maugust, and Moctober

[–] lugal@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 2 weeks ago

I think you can use the white space so it's "[ ]april"

[–] SnekZone@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Kinda true. If the whitespace from the top row doesn't get removed, you are left with "febr uary".

[–] Scubus@sh.itjust.works 7 points 2 weeks ago

With white space you can make every month

I understand that bad ui is a fun meme and all, but how did this one even cross their mind as an idea for a bad UI? This is a new level of convoluted I would not have even considered.

Finally I can input my birthday of Jempril 0 without having to use a keyboard!

[–] tetris11@feddit.uk 8 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (6 children)

Genuine Question:

if you could split the month names into 3, how would you split them to maximise their choice overlap?

  • "em" is a good overlap for nov/sept/dec
  • "uar" is good for jan/febr

This is beautiful. Especially if it filters the available selections based on what is selected in the previous column.

They should have included an option for BC and AD.

[–] Brickhead92@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago

I sure hope that 190 slider is also logarithmic
