In First past the poll, this makes sense. But I don't get the value of it in RCV.

Any case, as progressives, it's not surprising that the establishment Democrats will do everything to try and stop him from winning. I suspect they even try to railroad him if he wins. But I hope they can fight against this and connect to working class voters on the fundamentals. Its simple, sincere, and honest.

Edit: okay, the general election is FPTP. Both of the men self centered and arrogant, but I think they each have their price. I wouldn't be surprised if a month before the ballots are mailed, one drops out.

Democrat asks Democrat to drop out of race in order to defeat candidate Democratic party members voted for in Democratic Primary.

Brilliant.

The most Democrat turn of events.

Didn't Adams get kicked out of the party over getting caught taking bribes from the Turkish government?

No.

He was literally invited to the DNC but they just didnt give him a speaking position. Hakeem Jeffries has defended him every step of the way.

Why wasn't he in the primary, then?

TL;DR: He chose not to cause its easier than facing rejection and getting his feelings hurt, to just pay his own way. And he can pretend he is well liked to people that pay him, for longer.

He struggled to raise money for his re-election and blamed the court cases that were pardoned by Trump for taking up his time. Democratic party cares a lot about what you can pay in for how they help.

By not running as a democrat Adams is automatically in the general election same as how Cuomo is still in and his budget he raises is his. Basically each party can only offer one candidate but anyone can boost themselves for general election and be on it with the funds or signatures. He figures he has them.

Mamdani just won the backing of the party in the party voting. So he automatically gets the votes and money needed to run.

Well the election is not RCV, only the Democratic primary was.

This election was over the minute that NYC billionaires offered a blank check to a new candidate and no one took the offer. The fact that the two lamest opponents possible are still his main opposition certainly makes it look like he will sweep this election handsomely, even if Adams and Cuomo dont split the conservative moron vote

They're going to spend millions smearing his name, calling him a terrorist, and making up lies through PAC's. I don't know if it will work, but damn if they aren't gonna try.

I think the primary is RCV, not the actual election.
