Alignment memes are getting less and less connected to reality.

[–] Custoslibera@lemmy.world 15 points 2 years ago

Sounds like a topic for the next alignment meme.

I’d agree with like the random aircraft ones, but do you disagree that listening to a musical on shuffle isn’t cursed?

[–] spittingimage@lemmy.world 10 points 2 years ago

The idea of listening to a musical and not watching one honestly never occurred to me.

[–] Belgdore@lemm.ee 3 points 2 years ago

I feel like it depends on the musical.

[–] drekly@lemmy.world 40 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Radio is chaotic evil for sure

No choice, no knowledge of what might be next in the library, very small track list so loads of repeats and SO MANY ADS

[–] trailing9@lemmy.ml 11 points 2 years ago

But it's not chaotic but structured by editors. It's lawful evil.

[–] hai@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 years ago

Ehh… yeah, I see your point, what we really need is a musicals radio station….

[–] Gorvin@lemm.ee 30 points 2 years ago (3 children)

Chaotic neutral here. One momment I'm listening to Sabaton, the next I'm listening to Chainsaw Man intro song.

I regret nothing.

[–] Caesium@lemmy.world 10 points 2 years ago

Am I really listening to music if I don't experience tonal whiplash with each song? Is it really living if I'm not listening to a j-pop song only to have post-metal be next in the queue??

Not only that but I also just get a real good grasp on the music I listen to in general. It is a very fun excerisze to be able to guess the song that's playing within the first few seconds.

[–] NukedRat@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago

Exactly what I do. I have over 500 songs on my Spotify paylist and just keep it on repeat. When I find a new song I like I add it on.

[–] hai@lemmy.ml 3 points 2 years ago

See, I’m typically the same way. Recently though I’ve been messing around with how I store my music though and have been into (shuffling or playing in order) albums recently.

99% of musicals completely obliterate my suspension of disbelief. Like why? Why did you have to force songs into every single conversation? It's weird and unnatural

[–] hai@lemmy.ml 6 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Bad musicals are awful. Good musicals are amazing.

[–] trailing9@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

That disqualifies musicals from being lawful good unless further qualified.

[–] pancakes@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 years ago

Unless the song is super catchy.

[–] NorthWestWind@lemmy.world 13 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Real evil is listening to /dev/random

[–] trailing9@lemmy.ml 5 points 2 years ago

People learn and sleep with white noise. It's chaotic neutral.

[–] dessalines@lemmy.ml 7 points 2 years ago

I love how musicals are in both lawful good and chaotic evil.

[–] BedbugCutlefish@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Where's 'turning the music off and driving in silence'?

[–] Capitao_Duarte@lemmy.eco.br 19 points 2 years ago (1 children)
[–] trailing9@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 years ago

The 4:1 upvote relation between music and silence, that's insightful.

[–] ChaoticNeutralCzech@feddit.de 2 points 2 years ago

I would drive in silence if I could. Traffic is loud but there are key audio cues throughout (honking, tram bell, protected railroad crossings, motor rot/min for shifting gears etc.)

[–] Donkter@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Beyond evil: shuffling a playlist of multiple musicals.

[–] AllonzeeLV@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

I'd love You will be Found from Dear Evan Hansen to be randomly followed by Epiphany(we all deserve to die) from Sweeney Todd.

[–] yozul@beehaw.org 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I guess I'm lawful chaotic, because I like album shuffle.

[–] webghost0101@sopuli.xyz 6 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

I was 100% expecting album shuffle as evil.

Listening to a playlist in order is super valid if its a proper build playlist.

[–] leaky_shower_thought@feddit.nl 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

reminds me of those Oklahoma folks. the real lawful evil.

[–] hai@lemmy.ml 0 points 2 years ago (1 children)

This is what we should replace death row with.

[–] ChaoticNeutralCzech@feddit.de 1 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

As in, put the officers who tortured the prisoners on death row, and free the convicts?

Or torture more people?!

[–] oscariswild@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Where is shuffling all your musicals...

[–] pastermil@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 years ago

Chaotic evil
