Having seen systems go offline as soon as tbe enemy fires a reverse polarity plot based weapon, I'm not sure those second backups are helping
Same as now in the case of EMPs, the backups are shielded and offline and only powered up after the primary systems go down.
Ah ha, that’s why the second backup has a reverse polarity bridge inverter, which only needs to match the incoming frequency to retain full online capability. You can also play Doom on it.
