I most mourn the loss of incomplete maps.

In some places the veil is thin.

It's interesting that they're all tempted to say there's no land on the equator. They also have issues with other coordinates that are too "nice" looking, and probably say they're ocean because it's closer to saying "nonexistent". But, for the equator specifically it seems strong and persistent.
