In the hover over note she mentions she is thinking about doing a mural on their fence with the kids in the fall. Sounds like this popped into her mind. I have seen quite a few comments about violence in the strip and I think this is a good meta interpretation of where she is coming from. The strip is a sorta comic diary so many of those are the types of things that pops into all our heads. Given her background Im pretty sue she is someone who only wants to work for change through peaceful means but the comic itself again is like a diary so a mix of things that actually happen in her life along with musings and just venting as well. Its sorta tough as its a bit more complex than a typical cartoon and folks that come and see just one often don't quite get it I think.
