Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Just in time for bird flu, swine flu or just...whatever. The next big pandemic. For sane people, Covid should have been a trial run where lots of lessons were learned about what does and doesn't work. It should have been celebrated as an astonishing victory for science and medicine, given how mRNA research paid off...

Instead, we have the INSANE people running the asylum and who want revenge for their butthurt fee-fees over things like mask and vaccine mandates.

FUCKING. CRAZY.

I'm more worried about all the shit CDC has in its facilities that may now escape because morons are running things now. They do hold some of the deadliest vaccines in the country.

I feel bad for the scientists and I can't imagine the pain. Forced to "put down" your life's work for the greater good. Or have it become dangerous through negligence or weaponization.

It's why we have the nobel prize

Everything is over. It was over the day that he won the election. They hold all the cards and they are not handing them over. Forget about midterms or even presidential elections. We are done.

I’ve felt the same way since his first election. I don’t know what the other side looks like, but we all will soon.

Then why the redistricting push? A lot of effort for something that doesn’t matter.

And fascism can eat itself and fall apart, and likely will, if people sit around moping and talking about how hopeless shit is there will be no one to grab opportunities when they arise. And countries do overthrow unjust regimes, not always, but pretty frequently.

[–] crusa187@lemmy.ml 6 points 2 days ago

They’d rather we spend time fighting obviously illegal redistricting than holding the elites accountable for raping children as exposed in the Trump-Epstein files.

This keeps us punching left or right, instead of where we should all be focused: up.

If you aren't making plans with your local community to combat this we have already failed. We're going to have to do something if we want to ensure our nation's survival.

Sad part is, any of his followers are cheering for this.

The brain worms are celebrating.

[–] Count042@lemmy.ml 3 points 2 days ago (2 children)

There are no brain worms.

That was a story he told in court, with no evidence, to justify not giving alimony to an ex-wife he financially fucked with until she killed herself. He then stole her body from her family to bury her in his cemetery.

How the FUCK is Cheryl Hines still with this monster

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Still a good metaphor, though.
