J.D. Vance isn't ready to run a Wendy's.

[–] III@lemmy.world 17 points 2 days ago

He is ready to run a couch store. Not to be left alone in one, though.

This is a direct admission that Trump is gonna die soon

[–] MagicShel@lemmy.zip 41 points 2 days ago (16 children)

Evil people always last longer than you think. I'm not sure whether Trump is actually evil or the evil is a byproduct of extreme narcissism combined with staggering stupidity.

I heard a theory the other day that the thing that makes Trump Trump is that he speaks on a fourth grade level because he's just that dumb. He politically engages people who are too ignorant and disinterested in politics to do more than check Trump's name and ignore other Republican candidates. I saw it here in my own state where was something like an 800k vote discrepancy between Trump and conservative Supreme Court candidates. It's why districts that Trump won by double digits flip hard for Dems in special election's and non-presidential elections.

What that means is, when Trump dies, the Republican Party is pretty much fucked if they haven't achieved full on fascism by then. I'm not smart enough to know whether that theory is correct, but I really want it to be.

Based on trumps diet he should have been dead 10 years ago. He has long outstayed his welcome.

Fingers crossed! JD will not be as batshit. He wants to keep the job and not get bounced from the top spot next election.

[–] grte@lemmy.ca 120 points 2 days ago (8 children)

JD will not be as batshit.

Considering his connections to Peter Thiel I'm not so sure about that. But what matters is that he won't be able to wield the cult of personality that has formed around Trump the way Trump can.

[–] Yawweee877h444@lemmy.world 60 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Exactly.

JD is scary due to the thiel connection.

He's very unlikable though imo. He doesn't have the charisma trump has (not genuine charisma, but like an arrogant bullying charisma that MAGA is attracted to). Hopefully this alone would work against him.

[–] vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 43 points 2 days ago (1 children)

He basically radiates the Jeb Bush please clap awkwardness at all times.

[–] Justas@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 day ago

Some people, mostly jokingly, think that the timeline where Jeb Bush got elected president is the best timeline. JD Vance's would be the worst.

JD also doesn't have as much of the crazy vote. Some people find trump charismatic, and find he can do no wrong, while JD chaises that charisma while lounging on the couch like a Lay-z-boy.

Bro I’ve been looking EVERYWHERE to see if Trump has been seen today. Best I came up with was a zoomed in picture of his face at the golf course. It has so many pixels it barely resembles him and his face is swollen as hell and his nose doesn’t even look normal.

Please Jesus let this be the weekend we get some good news !!!

[–] Sterile_Technique@lemmy.world 88 points 2 days ago (15 children)

Wishing Mr. Vance a speedy transition to power. Preferably like, tonight.

Wishing for the rest of the world he has a speedy transition right back out of power. Preferably like, very slightly later, also tonight.

[–] buddascrayon@lemmy.world 22 points 2 days ago (5 children)

Just a quick reminder that the next person in the line to become president after the Vice President and the President are no longer able to perform the job is the Speaker of the House.

I thereby direct you to take a look at who the Speaker of the House is currently.

It's shit heads all the way down.

[–] meco03211@lemmy.world 21 points 2 days ago

It is very unlikely to ever get to the speaker. Everyone in the line doesn't move up one. If trump dies, vance becomes president but Johnson doesn't suddenly ascend to vp. Vance selects a new vp that I believe needs senate confirmation.

[–] smeenz@lemmy.nz 14 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

Not really. Trump and Vance would have to both die at essentially the same time for the role to be given to the speaker. In any other situation, Vance would become president and then nominate a new VP.

LOL that fat fuck Vance has zero charisma, therefore will not be POTUS. Americans want a celebrity.

[–] staph@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 day ago

Love the assumption that the elections aren't already fixed.

[–] ToastedRavioli@midwest.social 20 points 2 days ago

Thats why he had to put himself next in line, because he could never win himself. Hes gonna do Trump like he did the Pope

[–] mikenurre@lemmy.world 58 points 2 days ago

He means "I'm ready to do whatever Peter Thiel tells me instead of Chump"

[–] frezik@lemmy.blahaj.zone 40 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (5 children)

Hint here could go one of two ways. First is that Trump's health is fully expected to fail soon. The second is that Peter Thiel would see Vance as being less of a problem to control, and would tell Vance to pull the trigger on the 25th amendment regardless of Trump's actual health.

That said, this article is a bit overblown. Vance was asked about the President's health, and gave a pretty standard line any VP would say in the same position.

“The president is in incredibly good health,” Vance insisted to USA Today. “He’s got incredible energy.”

And these assholes wanted to "investigate" the Democrats for saying this kind of thing about Biden? At least I've seen Biden ride a bike. Having a golf cart shuttle you around on a course ain't anything.

I'd love to see mr. "incredible energy" try to ride a bike right now, LOL.

[–] Furbag@lemmy.world 17 points 2 days ago (2 children)

I would not be surprised at all if Trump never learned how to ride a bike or swim.

Be happy that we’re not in the Battlestar Galactica and the secretary of education becomes President. (Linda McMahon)

I mean, that's his job, right? Like, his one definite real job? He's "ready"? I should fucking hope so.

Does he know that being the current US President needs to suck Putin's dick? Does he understand that?

I've no doubt he can fit Putin's dick in there along with Peter Thiel's.

I mean we saw him at the meeting with Zelenskyy. He's got callouses on his knees already.
