But I'm the main character

[–] Ekybio@lemmy.world 47 points 1 week ago

The girl is the main character and the guys are just quest mobs

[–] baguettefish@discuss.tchncs.de 29 points 1 week ago (1 children)

in my entire playthrough I've never seen the perspective switch to somebody else, which is very boring but also focuses all my attention on one character

[–] Catoblepas@piefed.blahaj.zone 13 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You have to use the bed at night (or during the day for a debuff if you don’t have the night owl characteristic), there’s a random chance a dream sequence will initiate and give you other POVs.

I’m a little scared to ask WTF a “GigaStacy” is suppose to be.

[–] shittydwarf@piefed.social 61 points 1 week ago (1 children)

If you have to ask you can't afford her

Either the female equivalent of Gigachad, or a gal with a height of nine feet two grains.

Well in return I can be a big tiddy bf who watches anime and plays video games but not too much and can be her mom and her therapist

[–] Soup@lemmy.world 69 points 1 week ago (20 children)

I remember a post where a guy was like “why does she get all dressed up to go out with her friends but with she just wears sweatpants?” and the “with me” clip had bro in basketball shorts, a t-shirt, and a baseball hat. One of the comments said something along the lines “she’s putting as much effort in as you are.”

Too many of us dudes have such garbo fashion sense they seem to believe that wearing a t-shirt without holes and their “nice shorts” is enough to start complaining about women and it’s just sad.

[–] Dreaming_Novaling@lemmy.zip 28 points 1 week ago

Also, are we talking about being at home, or going out on a date with the guy? If she's chilling at home of course she's gonna be in fucking sweatpants. Do you expect her to look like a TikTok influencer 24/7? Hell, even if it was an outing, if you're going to a regular, mom-and-pop diner or some shit, I also wouldn't expect someone to dress mega fancy, especially if you're already with them.

But yeah, don't wear a plain ass T-shirt and shorts to a nice date and expect your partner to always be ready to model for a fashion brand...

[–] phar@lemmy.ml 15 points 1 week ago (4 children)

What is hilarious is when people come into an interview like a scrub. I understand you spent four hundred dollars on those basketball sneakers. But they're basketball sneakers. You didn't get the job because you obviously make bad decisions.

[–] Soup@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago (3 children)

And to that end, dressing up nice enough for interview at most places shouldn’t even be that high a bar. Dark jeans and a nice button up, even one with patterns honestly, will probably be enough. After that, though, most jobs pay like shit and treat people worse than that so if they expect me to show up in a suit and jerk them off they can get bent.

gonna be honest. i have eclectic (okay weird) but pretty sharp fashion sense. going out with my wife is always an excuse to dress up. i don't understand this "wearing a t-shirt without holes and their “nice shorts” is enough to start complaining about women" but i'm fucking vain

[–] rumschlumpel@feddit.org 14 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Dressing up as a guy is kinda hard, the widely accepted options tend to have much less variety than women's fashion. You pretty much have to get weird to make it a little fun, and that's risky.

I guess that actually makes it easy to dress up, it's just depressingly boring.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

the acceptable shirts that come out of most clothing stores the last decade or two have been so godsdamned boring. i do most of my clothing shopping at thrift stores now and look for stuff that's easily tailored because that's the only place i'll find interesting fabric. well, there and nordstrom off the rack. i saw a jacket there a decade ago that i should've bought that was too fucking expensive and i have regretted not buying it to this day. i should have spent that $700 i have had at least $700 of regret by now.

edit: i don't have a lot of regrets but this is one of them.

Typically if you go looking for a partner with a checklist you'll be disappointed. Nobody wants to be graded like a piece of pork.

[–] ILikeTraaaains@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

My checklist:

[ ] Must like me
[ ] Don’t be bigoted

Maybe I’m asking too much

Nobody wants to be graded like a piece of pork.

Pretty sure dick rating is at least a fetish.

[–] Rooty@lemmy.world 17 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Yeah, but we're discussing relationships not kink, you can be into some pretty hardcore stuff and still be hurt emotionally by being treated poorly by a partner

Look, if I can't be a big tiddy goth babe who plays video games, then that's the next best thing

Luckily my wife is a little goth, plays a couple video games, she's a babe, and I love every part of her. And for some reason she likes me, so I guess I got the best thing anyway.

People be like "society has imposed unrealistic expectations on everyone about every aspect of their lives causing irreparable damage to the self and the society that created the issue" and they're just some hairless ape.

[–] MissJinx@lemmy.world 36 points 1 week ago (14 children)

If they were just some guy it would be ok. In my female experience guys like this are overweigh, jobless, don't make a single effort at anything and are convinced women own him to be perfect

[–] SaintNyx@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Seen a lot of men like this with the "ideals" except they have a good job and think it's a crowning achievement. They also often want their wives to have good jobs and to have separate accounts and expenses? So they want a perfect, pretty, petite wife who's smart, has a great job, but also cooks, cleans, takes care of the house, and their children. What do they bring to the table? Not the looks, money or house help. Their ✨shining personality ✨? Don't worry ladies this alpha nice guy's on the market & just around the corner, lucky you!

Girls be like “where’s my 6 ft+ millionaire bf who also likes to stay home, cuddle, read feminist literature, and does the dishes and laundry without being asked”, meanwhile they’re a single mom with 30 extra pounds and crippling student loan debt.

[–] ramble81@lemmy.zip 61 points 1 week ago (7 children)

Problem is having unrealistic expectations regardless of who you are. You can have preferences but don’t objectify.

[–] tormeh@discuss.tchncs.de 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You see this a lot in the comment sections of short videos complaining about men. The expectations are wild. Of course they're unrepresentative, but these women clearly are out there.

Like people expecting a working democracy and thinking that it is enough to vote.

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 17 points 1 week ago (5 children)

Yes everyone knows that in order to have a functional society you need to wear a yellow fluorescent jacket and set fire to a few cars every time you're moderately unhappy about something.

[–] Alfredolin@sopuli.xyz 14 points 1 week ago (5 children)

This is pretty reducing of the yellow jacket movement but I don't expect mainstream media to have covered that properly.

I'd love to see this dude that actually thinks that anymore. Today's trend is to just give up on material life like a zen buddist, but be a nihilist.

I just want someone who is that middle thing (watches anime and plays games). Everything else is optional.

Goth/Preppy

Boy/Girl

Living/Deceased

🤷‍♂️

I blame the fact that every guy around their mid 20s has a big-thigh male friend with a small waist that watches anime and plays videogames but still has enough time to introduce a random niche hobby like archery every other week that can be both your cool uncle and a therapist.

How do they do that? Nobody knows.

Meanwhile every other friend and family member seemingly flips a coin to decide if they wanna fall into the racist pipeline every 2-4 years in US depending on how south you live.

[–] Mechaguana@programming.dev 12 points 1 week ago

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago

Yeah there's like 3 of these women in existence, and they are all in happy relationships. Give me a flawed but functional tomboy type that I can joke around with while hiking with the dog and drinking beer out of a backpack cooler.

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world 16 points 1 week ago

I feel personally attacked.
