Community Rules

You must post before you leave

Be nice. Assume others have good intent (within reason).

Block or ignore posts, comments, and users that irritate you in some way rather than engaging. Report if they are actually breaking community rules.

Use content warnings and/or mark as NSFW when appropriate. Most posts with content warnings likely need to be marked NSFW.

Most 196 posts are memes, shitposts, cute images, or even just recent things that happened, etc. There is no real theme, but try to avoid posts that are very inflammatory, offensive, very low quality, or very "off topic".

Bigotry is not allowed, this includes (but is not limited to): Homophobia, Transphobia, Racism, Sexism, Abelism, Classism, or discrimination based on things like Ethnicity, Nationality, Language, or Religion.

Avoid shilling for corporations, posting advertisements, or promoting exploitation of workers.

Proselytization, support, or defense of authoritarianism is not welcome. This includes but is not limited to: imperialism, nationalism, genocide denial, ethnic or racial supremacy, fascism, Nazism, Marxism-Leninism, Maoism, etc.

Avoid AI generated content.

Avoid misinformation.

Avoid incomprehensible posts.

Moderator Guidelines

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.

"I think it's worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights" - Charlie Kirk, 2023

[–] EatMyPixelDust@lemmy.blahaj.zone 26 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I guess he got what he wished for.

[–] hildegarde@lemmy.blahaj.zone 19 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

I'm sure he'd agree that his death was unfortunate, but worth the cost.

A good day for everyone

[–] Sgt_choke_n_stroke@lemmy.world 49 points 2 weeks ago

Turns out life wasn't very pro kirk.

[–] abbiistabbii@lemmy.blahaj.zone 38 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

God help us if he survives, because knowing these fucks he'll call for mass shootings.

[–] mcbenavides85@piefed.social 39 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I’m not a doctor, but that was a shit ton of blood. I doubt he’ll make it.

[–] HakunaHafada@lemmy.dbzer0.com 20 points 2 weeks ago

Can confirm, that was a fucking waterfall.

Nah I get that he's dead and that that's reason to party (nasty fucker, shit on his grave). But why crabs?

[–] abbiistabbii@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It's a meme. When someone horrible dies people often play the crab rave song. As a result, the crab emoji has become related to celebrating when someone horrible dies.

This is just the price to pay for the 2nd amendment. So glad he got to die for what he believed in 😊

[–] jorymo@lemmy.world 23 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I don't want him to be a martyr, but he'll also be way more insufferable if he survives

[–] abbiistabbii@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I mean if he survives I suspect someone/a load of people they perceive as an enemy is gonna be shot.

[–] Bbbbbbbbbbb@lemmy.world 14 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Im tired of waiting for a civil war, honestly. Im tired of every month seeing something stupid and wondering "this cant possibly be the reason, right?"

[–] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 4 points 2 weeks ago

fr, get it over with already. sort your shit out down there and rejoin the world of sanity

or at least closer to it

[–] cupcakezealot@piefed.blahaj.zone 21 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

yall why does he look like butt-head

[–] Atelopus-zeteki@fedia.io 8 points 2 weeks ago

Asking the important questions, here. It's been years, and no one has been able to explain this adequately.

[–] Berengaria_of_Navarre@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

pick one

Actually judging by the thin top lip, undefined philtrum, and short palpebral fissure I'm 98% certain it's foetal alcohol syndrome.

[–] Una@europe.pub 9 points 2 weeks ago

I think he is dead definitely, I have seen video, it was on the neck and good amount of blood was coming out, hardly. It was hard to watch, but kinda don't care much about other people

[–] Passerby6497@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Did we have any victims, or was it just Charlie?

[–] Strawberry@lemmy.blahaj.zone 18 points 1 week ago
