at night, alone

Why?

Fucking why?!

What's gonna come out of the faucet at night while I'm alone if I don't?! 😱

[–] saltesc@lemmy.world 34 points 1 week ago (2 children)

The WD is Water Dispersant. Maybe someone's under the impression water can "clump up" overnight.

[–] NoSpotOfGround@lemmy.world 18 points 1 week ago

Water does clump up overnight in some places, but you'd need to set the WD-40 on fire for it to make a difference.

[–] Lemmyoutofhere@lemmy.ca 17 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It can if it’s cold enough.

[–] saltesc@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

Oh, I dunno. I just had a pipe burst under the house because it froze. I don't think a quick psh psh up the faucet was going to help lol. If I'm honest, it was my fault for being alone that night. I shouldn't blame the plumbing.

[–] icelimit@lemmy.ml 9 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

It's more what's going to have a hard time coming out of the faucet and that the wd40 will help it come out.

We all want it to come out butter smooth.

Slop machine said that construction means clicks.

You should be asking who

Nothing. That's why you need to lubricate them.

Nothing–that's why you need to lubricate.

Spray WD-40 up your urethra at night when your in-laws are visiting.

Gotta say, seeing a flaming dick fart wasn't on my 2025 bingo card, but then again it's a wild fucking year so I shouldn't be surprised

[–] A_Very_Big_Fan@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago (1 children)

HE WENT BACK FOR SECONDS?!?!??

[–] TherapyGary@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Iirc, this is actually a trimmed video and he did it several more times πŸ˜…

[–] asdfranger@lemmynsfw.com 1 points 1 day ago

ahem do you have the sauce?

what the fuck how do you even FIND that this is possible??

[–] ulterno@programming.dev 2 points 6 days ago

Did you make sure to spray WD40 into those tubes before turning on that water?
They only said no for drinking water, not for eye cleaning water. Get all the rust out of your eye sockets and lubricate them for grater eye-rolling.

[–] Korne127@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago

holy shit?!

[–] asdfranger@lemmynsfw.com 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

That's... actually kind of badass xD

Going back for round 2 was a bold choice!

[–] Schmoo@slrpnk.net 10 points 1 week ago

I am now cursed with the knowledge that this is possible. TIHI

[–] Fluffy_Ruffs@lemmy.world 28 points 1 week ago (1 children)

That's such an ad read. Wd40 isn't going to dissolve kidney stones.

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 3 points 6 days ago

OK, having intense scrotum pain. Instructions unclear. How do I pee the WD40 out?

[–] Dasus@lemmy.world 28 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Notice everyone, this isn't for any taps/faucets you might want to drink from.

We do not recommend this technique for RO or filtered water faucets as it could contaminate your drinking water.

So idk who it's even for lol

just clicks I assume

[–] floquant@lemmy.dbzer0.com 28 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I always wondered what's the point of these ads. Is it to segment gullible people?

[–] DoGeeseSeeGod@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

They're excuse for TherapyGary to post his favorite video.

I'd like to see this answered.

We've come a long way from the era of the "one weird trick", haven't we?

[–] SSUPII@sopuli.xyz 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Most of us are used to no ads from the adblocker. These are still plentiful.

last week my professor tried to show us a YouTube video of psychology and got an unskippable 15 sec ad of a (borderline) hentai game 😭

[–] blimthepixie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 18 points 1 week ago (2 children)
[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

Yep. Plumbing guy at Lowe's gave me much the same tip to break up a clogged valve thing, forget what it's called.

[–] Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 21 points 1 week ago (1 children)

That's such an ad read. Wd40 isn't going to dissolve mineral buildup.

[–] onslaught545@lemmy.zip 6 points 6 days ago (1 children)

The article doesn't say it dissolves mineral buildup. It penetrates the buildup to separate it from the surface it's stuck to.

[–] Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Still not going to work. You'll want an acid like LCR to do the job, but you also aren't going to see any real gain from a sink faucet. I've done it to shower heads, but those have much smaller passages and it had to be over night.

[–] onslaught545@lemmy.zip 2 points 6 days ago

I mean, that's how it works for stuff that's rusted shut. But you're right that an acid, even vinegar, would be way more effective. And non-toxic in the case of vinegar.

[–] FartsWithAnAccent@fedia.io 16 points 1 week ago

Makes the water go faster, duh.

[–] grrgyle@slrpnk.net 13 points 1 week ago

Guys always say my water smells great but I'll never tell my secret ☺️

[–] sirico@feddit.uk 4 points 1 week ago

It displaces water though so isn't there a risk you could move the source?
