I call those vehicles compensators

[–] kkj@lemmy.dbzer0.com 16 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The Saints Row series has a large pickup truck called The Compensator.

[–] FireRetardant@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago

That game naming their body shops "rimjobs" went over my head for longer than I'd like to admit.

[–] SARGE@startrek.website 15 points 1 week ago

Around these parts, it's usually a lifted pickup with at least one punisher decal.

Sadly owners of those cars are too stupid to get this joke.

[–] 33550336@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

In my country the loud cars are not so much that problem, but motorbikes. I fucking hate loud motorbikes. It is like 130 dB or more.

[–] FireRetardant@lemmy.world -1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

But they need their bike to be loud so other drivers can hear them as they illegally pass, lane split, weave through traffic, and overall be a menace on the roadway.

[–] alphabethunter@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

People really can't understand sarcasm on the internet

[–] FireRetardant@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

I honestly just assumed I upset bike riders who do view their noise as a safety net, which i would argue is mostly a moot point given the sound proofing of modern cars means you don't hear the bike until it would already be too late anyway.

Haha it’s funny because his body is the joke.

Let’s laugh and continue acting like having a smaller sized organ is indicator of anything about a person.

[–] tate@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Not every male with a tiny penis has tiny penis syndrome and feels the need to compensate for it. But 100% of males who compensate for their tiny penis have a tiny penis. No one is being unfairly targeted by this cartoon.

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 12 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

100% of every tiny penis joke, is a body shaming joke. Be a better person.

You can make fun of idiots in loud cars without insulting billions of innocent people across the world and perpetuating a harmful stereotype that small penis == insecure arsehole.

[–] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 5 points 1 week ago

Yeah, it's not even that ~~hard~~ difficult to make the joke and avoid the body shaming.

Doctor! I'm insecure about the size of my penis.

Sir, there is only one treatment available.

Obnoxiously loud car noises

[–] Raptorox@sh.itjust.works 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I may be wrong but I think the joke was supposed to be that the screeching sounds like "tiny penis", hence "the world must know"

I don't really see it, but that's what I remember at least

[–] Nythos@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 week ago

No, the joke is body shaming.

[–] pewgar_seemsimandroid@lemmy.blahaj.zone 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

the stereotype angers the consies

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

consies

Conservatives? I can't figure out what else that could be.

[–] pewgar_seemsimandroid@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)
[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Why'd you repeat yourself?

[–] Wizard_Pope@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago

It's not just men but women as well. My gf's sister had a friend that discussed how she would make her car really loud and stuff at a birthday party.

She just kept talking and going into detail about exactly what she will modify.

It took quite a bit of restraint to not slap her and tell her to be a decent human being and just use a normal fucking exhaust.

[–] daggermoon@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I have a small dick and aren't a cunt to people.

[–] Wizard_Pope@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Good for you. You are a decent human being.

[–] daggermoon@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

Thanks, I try.

People will loudly bitch about cars at 3am and then run their lawnmower right by my window for 30 minutes during the day when I'm sleeping. Classic.

[–] ExLisper@lemmy.curiana.net 13 points 1 week ago (2 children)

People don't bitch about cars. They bitch about cars that are needlessly loud. Did your neighbor modify his lawnmower to make more noise for fun? If he did, he's just as much of an idiot as the guys in loud cars (but I doubt he did).

[–] Mac@mander.xyz 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

I'm pointing out that people only care about things when it applies to them.
You're weirdly defensive.

[–] Wizard_Pope@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

No you are not. And even if you actually are you chose a really bad example to try and make your point.

[–] Mac@mander.xyz 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

You do not speak for me.

[–] Cevilia@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

People don't bitch about cars

Wrong sub?

[–] ExLisper@lemmy.curiana.net 1 points 1 week ago

You got me haha

I meant the comic but yeah :D

[–] blackn1ght@feddit.uk 8 points 1 week ago

People are allowed to do things during the day.

[–] FireRetardant@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Most cities have noise bylaws. Revving an engine at 3am is usually in violation of those laws, running a lawn mower in day time is not. I get that it sucks they are loud and many lawns are useless, but its also much more dangerous to mow in the dark and more people are sleeping at night than in the day time. You also have to make some loud noise with our current standard mowing technology, but the same isn't true for the cars in question, they are modified intentionally to be much louder.
