The disadvantage of 13 years sleep is waking up to a different world. 2012 had its own problems, but imagine going from that to now. "What did you people do?!?!?" Likewise 1999 to 2012.
Nah I'd do it like in the show foundation and just wake up every hundred or so years, poke my head out and say nope not yet, see you next century good luck
