It works pretty well for me. It prints fast, it's strong and has good layer adhesion. It does take quite a while to dry a new roll though. The cardboard spool holds a lot of water.

It was under 50% relative humidity in my garage today, so I just put the spool right on the printer and hit "go" :)
Over 50% and I usually run active filament from a dry box to the printer
I haven't gone to the trouble of pre-drying a spool yet
It's too humid around here for that, especially this time of year. I have to keep mine in a sealed box with desiccant. Putting a new spool in the box without drying it just uses up the desiccant quickly.
At least PETG doesn't get brittle like PLA when it's wet. It just gets stringy.
I had no issues with any brands I've tried so far (PLA or PETG): Creality, Elegoo, Polymaker, Sunlu.
That's also true for even some obscure brands I've tried because I paid only $6/kg for them in a discount local store: Ziro, Do3D, iBOSS
Tbf, I had problems with exactly one brand repeatedly: eSun Of all the brands the one most people consider a safe bet gave me the most hazzle.
I absolutly used cheap brands as well and had no/less isues than with them.
Currenly heavily using Sunlu/Jayo (same brand) for PLA, extrudr , formfutura and black forest filaments for ASA, extrudr for the remaining technical stuff. Whatever's cheapest for PETG.
I really like elegoo rpetg. It really likes moisture, though. Not a problem for me with my redneck dryer, though.
I'll be making a video with my setup soon.
I had a bunch of rolls of plain petg, and dumped them on a second hand market. Never looking back.
Also, Sunlu PLA+ 2.0. Great PLA.
I want to try Polymaker HT-PLA-GF. High temp resistance (150°C) right off the printer, more if annealed, and glass fiber. Should be a great replacement for many engineering filaments, but printable on vanilla printers without enclosure/filters.
Elegoo petg and PLA have become my go-to over the past 2 years. Rapid vs pro tend to affect me more with how brittle the end product is than printing speed. I'm using a K2 Plus, but also printed on Anker M5C.
Fun detail: you can order 10kg packs for a good discount vs other shops if you hit their site directly.
My only gripe is they don't have variety packs of their fancier stuff. Some of their silk is gorgeous.
I usually have gotten about 35-40% rh on my should out of the bag. I still get good quality at that level, but would warn to actively dry a bit if you are in a more humid area for sure.
