Does anyone else feel like 'my brain-washing has been completed' when they find themselves upvoting obscure loss menes?

[–] Twakyr@feddit.org 9 points 8 hours ago (2 children)

My girlfriend told me i should ask: "who/what is loss?"

[–] AnarchistArtificer@slrpnk.net 2 points 1 hour ago

Did you show this image to your girlfriend and ask her if she got the joke, only for her to give you this oblique reply? If so, that's hilarious

[–] buttnugget@lemmy.world 9 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

That’s the comic that forms the basis for the second part of the phrase. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loss_(Ctrl%2BAlt%2BDel)

But it’s legos in that format, so the joke is actually Lego Loss, as in Legolas the Lord of the Rings character.

[–] neclimdul@lemmy.world 3 points 6 hours ago

Thank you. The amount of JPEG I couldn't see they are legos and didn't get it the actual joke.

Lego Loss

Shoulda made it outta Legolass minifigs.

Lego Legolass Loss.

[–] Visstix@lemmy.world 6 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

But remove the bottom part of the figurine. So it's legless lego legolas loss

[–] ICastFist@programming.dev 2 points 5 hours ago

if you didn't use legos, would it be legoless legless legolas loss?

Took me a second like “what does Lego have to do with loss… oh”

[–] ouRKaoS@lemmy.today 4 points 7 hours ago

Same, but replace "...oh" with "...goddammit..."

[–] dreadbeef@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 18 hours ago

I didnt even think lego had meaning, I immediately saw loss though

It's pointing out the obvious all the way down.

Is this less? Lass?

Internet anthropology is a real field

It seemed much cooler back when it was called cyber-anthropology. Second Life seemed like it was going to be much more important than it turned out to be, among other things.

[–] knowone@slrpnk.net 10 points 22 hours ago

All this needs is an amogus fella hidden in one of the blocks to add some more spice for future peoples

[–] ParadoxSeahorse@lemmy.world 9 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Look why is the 2x2 at a larger scale the the 4x2s

[–] thatKamGuy@sh.itjust.works 4 points 14 hours ago

Perspective; the 2x2 is closer to you than the 2x4.

[–] dual_sport_dork@lemmy.world 12 points 20 hours ago

They meet Legolas, an Elven warrior who can't hold his drink. He's taking the place of his older brother, Armolas, who can't hold his bow. Their younger brother, Arseolas, has already lost his seat on the council...

[–] SippyCup@lemmy.ml 18 points 23 hours ago (2 children)

Well you see, one time a web comic guy who only knew one punchline decided to try to tell a sad story...

[–] Passerby6497@lemmy.world 10 points 20 hours ago (2 children)

...with absolutely no context or lead up, leading to a massive tonal whiplash for the reader.

[–] yermaw@sh.itjust.works 4 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

In his defence, it could have been good if it was a TV show or something. It just didnt work in webcomic form. Plenty of comedy shows have tried (and succeeded) to turn the sad on out of nowhere and suckerpunch the audience.

[–] SippyCup@lemmy.ml 4 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

His audienthe mce already had a habit of trolling him. I remember the forums being particularly toxic. People fucking hated Tim Buckley well before he made a 4 panel comic about a miscarriage.

[–] Passerby6497@lemmy.world 2 points 18 hours ago

I didn't mind Buckley's art, but I was one of the people who bitched about B^U. Not on the forums tho, that shit was nuclear waste levels of toxic like you said.

[–] SippyCup@lemmy.ml 1 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

I mean, Ethan found out Lilah was pregnant several weeks earlier. You don't get a lot of warning for a miscarriage.

[–] Passerby6497@lemmy.world 3 points 18 hours ago

I know, I've been there. But a comic isn't a baby, and it gets published on your schedule. I completely understand needing to process, but it's no surprise it's become a meme with the way it was presented.

Legless Lego Legolas' Legless Lego Lass?

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 1 points 11 hours ago

who, Brickney?

[–] BrokenGlepnir@lemmy.world 4 points 21 hours ago

Is this the scene where aragorn suffers the "loss" of a toe? Legos can be pretty brutal

[–] dan69@lemmy.world 1 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Honestly my brain went to Elron for some reason

[–] JaymesRS@piefed.world 4 points 17 hours ago* (last edited 16 hours ago)

Ah, I think you’re thing of Elron Hubbard of Battlefield Middle Earth fame.
