The single biggest piece of evidence that Apollo 11 landed on the moon is really simple. The Soviet Union accepted it.
There is a zero percent chance they would be in on that conspiracy. They had every reason in the world to expose that as a lie. But they didn't, because it happened.
Yeah, they were tracking that shit with their own radars and telescopes.
There is no telescope on Earth that has the resolution to visually track the Apollo missions. It's just a physical impossibility at the distances involved. Only when NASA launched the LRO, there finally was an imaging system that could take pictures of the moon (from a low lunar orbit) of a resolution sufficient to actually see anything that's left there from the Apollo missions.
Radars and signals intelligence could and be used to keep track of the missions, though.
They hired Stanley Kubrick to fake the moon landing, but he was such a perfectionist, he built a working rocket and moon lander to film the fake landing on the moon.
He was such a perfectionist that he insisted on filming on location.
Theres an SFDebris episode on the X-Files where he jokes about the Lone Gunmen being so conspiratorial, that they think the moon landing was faked on the Moon with alien assistance.
I once had an interaction with someone online who believed Apollo 11 was fake... but the other five were totally legit.
You're not the only one who's heard that take from someone. Someone else I once (regrettably) talked to insisted that only the first one was fake.
Their logic was that NASA knew how to get to the moon but knew they wouldn't beat the Soviets, so they faked the first mission to demoralize the competition and give them time to do a real moon mission after that.
Don’t forget the Surveyor missions that sent robot landers. One of the Apollo missions visited one and brought back one of its cameras to see what a couple years in space has done to the hardware.
Edit: Upon closer inspection this is what is being shown on the Apollo 12 picture from the meme. The precision landing was landing where Surveyor, a known landmark, already was.
Hoping they could actually do it this time so the fake could be ignored henceforth obviously.
My point is, of all the arguments you could make 😭
