After a brief discussion with @snooting@wetshav.ing about this razor/blade combo, I had to revisit it. Part of the Shaving Data System (SDS) that I made lets you rate each shave and it notes the razor, blade, and how many shaves are on the blade. I only had one other rating for this combo and it wasn't good, but this one will be getting a 9/10.

Sample kill. A break from vegan Tabac for today with a nice tallow soap from Wholly Kaw.

I agree with @gcgallant's interpretation of Tabactober and chose a tobacco lather. I finished with a nice AS and balm from Poland for the whole tobacco and booze effect.

Have a good one!

Nice shave! Whiskey and tobacco. What's not to love?

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

This is only my second time using Steady. That's a mistake. Great soap base and great fragrance with this one.

I decided to shave to wake me a bit up. Bad choice. I cut myself – I had honed my Parker razor yesterday, and my La Lune stone had received our cat's abundant blessing. But the razor is plenty sharp.

This was the first use of Tundra Artica – or any Saponificio Varesino soap. I overloaded, but the experience was overall very good. I like the scent, and the lather was good.

Have a good day!

  • Brush: AP Shave Co. Snakeskin w/ 26 mm Silksmoke Flattop/Fan hybrid knot
  • Razor: Leaf Thorn
  • Blade: Derby Premium half DE
  • Lather: Stirling Soap Co. - Autumn Glory
  • Post-Shave: OAM - Oli del benessere sensitive skin toner
  • Passes & Info: 2-pass head shave, really good and smooth.

T'was my shave before my late shift. It seemed like a fine day to use Autumn Glory and it really was great - Stirling is something I can dial in perfectly for my head shaves on autopilot. I know most of you prefer a wet lather, even slurry on the face. I can't do that on the dome since it would run down into my eyes and I actually need some more cushion for some parts, like the back of my head. The typical "runny Yoghurt" recommendation works best for me. Bonus is that Autumn Glory also has a high enough fragrance level to be quite noticeable even when the lather is far away from my face. I really like it, reminds me of a Yankee Candle of the same name. Rob does nice things.

The shift wasn't so bad. I actually prefer the late shift, it allows me to get to work well-rested. Hope everyone else also had a good Monday!
