On August 10, 2024, in Miami, a woman named Macy Lathers caused a deadly crash while high on pink cocaine. She drove a white Mercedes through a red light, creating a three-car pileup that killed Abraham Molina and Jesus Rubio. Abraham’s wife, Juanita, survived but was injured. Do you think Maecee deserves to go to prison? I don't know if she deserves prison time for one mistake.

A mistake is when your foot slips and you hit the accelerator instead of the brake.

She made the choice to take pink cocaine and get behind the wheel. Choices have consequences. These choices endangered and killed people. Some rehabilitation closed off from the rest of society sounds in order.

Apparently she was already driving with a suspended license, so there seems to be a history of bad choices.

She killed multiple people, in what world dos that not deserve serious prison time?

People are dead…

2 years per person killed of prison time and a permanently suspended license with the caveat that if she is ever caught driving again she gets 10 more years in prison

Let’s see,

  • license already suspended
  • accelerated to speed through a red light at 78 mph
  • attempted to flee the scene
  • driving after using some unknown mixture of hard drugs
  • killed two people

I don’t know what people deserve, but that would garner prison time in most places. Of course, prison isn’t effective at rehabilitating people, only deterring crime to some extent and punishing people.

I’d say a sentence of at least a couple years, a requirement of drug treatment, 5-10 year license suspension, and probation with a longer suspended sentence if she’s caught driving.

If killing two people isn't something you think should get someone sent to prison then I'm concerned about you

She chose to do this, but I'd go one step further.... That coke-addled monster needs to be stoned (biblical stoning, not pot).

Yes, people who choose to endanger others deserve prison, especially when they actually kill people

I'd be in favor of execution in this instance.
