Neat. But can you steal the cars?

[–] Klear@quokk.au 30 points 1 week ago

I hope so. That would be grand!

[–] some_designer_dude@lemmy.world 23 points 1 week ago

You gotta work 40 in-game hours a week to save for a piece of shit rust bucket, then work up from there. The realism is next-level!

Big if true

By now I'm so jaded with modern video games that I expect it to be a barely functional release and fall into the same old pattern of over-promise and under-deliver. People who think it will be as good as GTA 5 after more than 12 years of updates are deluding themselves. I stopped playing GTA 5 online when they introduced microtransactions, the instant you could buy money in the game with real money, I dropped it harder than Donald Trump was dropped on the head as a baby.

Edit: typo.

It will be as "good" as GTA 5 and RDR2. Completely linear entertainment with pretty graphics designed for the widest possible audience. I expect the same slow progression as 5, where you unlock clothing stores after completing like 25% of the game. I also expect a kernel level anticheat and an online mode that does everything they seem to criticize in GTA 5's plot. Oh, and remove any remaining non-linearity, god forbid the player veers off by a centimeter from the scripted route.

In GTA1, this is the button you would press to get in/hijack a car. You could also press and hold down one of the arrow keys to do the "spin around" maneuver, whereby you would quicker get into the car. It was a sort of "hack".

Ive watched better call Saul and breaking bad, so I bet I can translate this:

The masculine grandma robbed the sex couch

[–] Kenny2999@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

Thats still a much better love story than Twilight and its also how JD Vance got married.

Oh noo... Then all these time in GTA 5, we've been driving convertibles then...? Who would have thought... 💭

Great, another non-political franchise going woke.

[–] theuniqueone@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 1 week ago

I bet it will include female npc drivers as well.

Barrio Logan in San Diego!
Those are the legs of the Coronado Bridge.

EDIT: If that's not San Diego - and I'm starting to think it isn't - it's giving me a weird disorientating feeling, like uncanny valley.

[–] tomiant@piefed.social 3 points 1 week ago

I don't want this.

Big step forward in gaming if true
