I sit in the hallway and say 'pss pss pss pss" while making a scratching motion with my hand. The cat that comes over first becomes King.

[–] jaupsinluggies@feddit.uk 8 points 1 day ago

Shut both doors, then open a different one and say "Whose a lovely kitty then?".

[–] Agent641@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago

Make sure they can both see me and understand that I heard their cries. Turn my back and walk away.

Meet injustice with justice.

[–] ef9357@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

Shake the treat bag so they both come to me.

[–] very_well_lost@lemmy.world 48 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Turn and walk away. Never negotiate with terrorists!

[–] LadyButterfly@reddthat.com 7 points 2 days ago

Mate I'm still laughing as I type this comment thank you so much

[–] BrazenSigilos@ttrpg.network 113 points 2 days ago

The same thing a cat would do. Look at them both, give a slow blink, then stand up and walk away to go do my own thing.

Check mate kitty 🙀♟️🎭

[–] RedEyeFlightControl@lemmy.world 179 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Sit where you are, invite them to come join you

[–] pruwybn@discuss.tchncs.de 60 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Watch as they both ignore you.

[–] gerryflap@feddit.nl 35 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Then at least it's their own fault

[–] Natanael@infosec.pub 17 points 2 days ago

Nothing is a cat's fault - cats

Then you gotta play the game. Stand real still. Lick your arm. Scratch your head a little. Then spaz out and run away.

[–] panda_abyss@lemmy.ca 24 points 2 days ago

That’s what a cat would do

[–] SethTaylor@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago
[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 32 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Sit in the hallway and open a bag of treats

Sit in the hallway and go "Ps, ps, ps."

[–] gedaliyah@lemmy.world 77 points 2 days ago

Power move. You sit down in the hallway and make them come to you.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 73 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Refuse to participate in this no-win scenario.

Instead? Ignore them and eat a can of tuna.

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 30 points 2 days ago (1 children)

They will both come running to demand you drop some tuna for them

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 39 points 2 days ago

This is the ideal, yes.

If you can’t win a scenario, change the scenario.

[–] otter@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Precisely. I came to comment simply: open a can of anything. Solved.

Say “ma-ah!” at them.

That’s apparently cat for “come here”.

With my current cats I have a clear favourite so I would go to her, and then the other one would run in the room and demand the attention because he is a needy little shit. I love him though, he just never lets her (or anyone) have a moment of peace.

[–] handsoffmydata@lemmy.zip 38 points 2 days ago

Walk into the kitchen, shake treat container.

[–] Fanfare2217@lemmy.world 30 points 2 days ago

There is this thing called "pspsps" did you know that?

[–] DeathByBigSad@sh.itjust.works 11 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Ask Schrödinger to put you in a box, split yourself into 2 timelines, then you can satisfy both cats.

[–] rmuk@feddit.uk 1 points 1 day ago

Okay, so which cat gets the corpse?

[–] Korhaka@sopuli.xyz 8 points 2 days ago

I take out a pack of car treats and now both cats are in the same room

[–] niktemadur@lemmy.world 20 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Ooh, a double slit! Do like the ol' photon or electron interfering with itself, both slits at the same time.

The revenge of Schrödinger's cat.

[–] JohnEdwa@sopuli.xyz 14 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

If they are my cats, choose the dark one because the white doesn't want to play, he just wants food, and will literally do this if I try.

[–] switcheroo@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Sit in the hall in view of both.

Put the ball back into their court. The little hellions...

[–] sircac@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago

Turn around and walk away, they will understand...

[–] SkunkWorkz@lemmy.world 13 points 2 days ago (1 children)

One is lying and one is not. How do you find out without getting scratched?

Open the fridge and both cats will come running

[–] usualsuspect191@lemmy.ca 18 points 2 days ago

Close both doors, but not enough to latch, then watch which cat caves first and opens the door

[–] felixwhynot@lemmy.world 22 points 2 days ago

Lay on the ground and meow

[–] Triumph@fedia.io 20 points 2 days ago
[–] lath@piefed.social 17 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Go into either room, pick up the cat in it, then throw it in the other room and close the door.

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago

I found the dog owner

I sit right where this pic was taken from and start clicking my tongue and blinking at em. Their move.

[–] LadyButterfly@reddthat.com 3 points 2 days ago

Power move. I like it.

[–] D_C@sh.itjust.works 7 points 2 days ago

Pfft, easy. I always have a full roasted chicken hidden about my person. ALWAYS!

[–] AllToRuleThemOne@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

Doublesplit Experiment. POV: You are in superposition.

[–] renrenPDX@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 2 days ago

It looks like you have two office/computer setups. Black chair person goes to pink chair and Pink chair person goes to black.

Observe reaction and report back.

[–] tdawg@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Turn around bc I forgot my water

Congratulations, you now trained your cats to play this little mind game once a day every day.

[–] LadyButterfly@reddthat.com 2 points 2 days ago
