Heat is rad, and not just because of the epic shoot out.

I recently watched Heat for the first time and it's so good. Both sides are portraid very well and I didn't know who I was rooting for until the very end.
There's a novel "Heat 2" that is both a sequel and a prequel. Apparently they are trying to make a movie.
Script is done, and filming will be in Los Angeles. Apparently they’re going to start filming soon.
Mann is making both.
I am not bullshitting you.
The working titles are: Preheat and Reheat.
- Inception
- Oceans 11 an 13
- Sneakers
- Hell or High Water
- Point Break
- Heat
- Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
- The Sting
- Rogue One
- Thief
I haven't seen it in a while, but I have good memories of Ocean's Eleven
Snatch
The Italian Job. (I’m sure I don’t need to say the original and not the remake).
That ending, haha
Inside Man was really good.
Soderbergh’s Ocean’s 11 (original was also good, just like this one better).
To Catch A Thief (is this a heist movie?)
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
Plus plenty of movies already mentioned, not least of which Hudson Hawk!
- The Italian Job
- The Wrong Trousers (Wallace and Gromit)
Rififi (1955) is great. It's also the source for many ideas used in later heist films.
David Mamet’s “Heist”. Fantastic story, dialogue, and acting.
So many great one-liners.
“Your weight or your fate!”
“Everybody needs money. That’s why they call it ‘money’”.
And I might as well just link to the quotes page because there’s too many.
The Big Short
- Hudson Hawk - silly movie where the thieves use songs to sync up during heists
- Kelly's Heroes - WW2 soldiers try and steal some Nazi gold
- Thomas Crown Affair - if you can look past it being about a rich guy stealing art out of boredom, it's not bad
- Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid - Western, train heist, good dialog and characters
Love all of these. I think I actually prefer the newer Thomas Crown Affair to the original.
Old gold.
"The Split" with Jim Brown and Donald Sutherland. Based on a Parker novel
"The Hot Rock" with Robert Redford [comedy]
"The Killing" Kubrick's second movie.
"Kelly's Heroes" WW2 soldiers sneak in ahead of Patton's army to rob a Nazi bank.
The Sting
Sexy Beast
Thomas Crown Affair
Snatch
Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels
A Fish Called Wanda
Oceans 11
Logan Lucky
Point Break
Ronin
Fast Five
Usual Suspects
Reservoir Dogs
The Hatton Garden Job films.
How about most underrated? The Score with Robert De Niro and Ed Norton. Both bring their A game. Never seen a robbery done quite like that one. :) Give that trailer 20 seconds of your life.
