The only character I recognize is Big Sexy Vampire. I've only ever tried one RE game, and the controls were so frustrating I never came back.

About this community and how I post the comics… Many moons ago, I would ask my Dad to save the newspaper for me everyday so I could read my favorite comic strips. Of course these days you can read your favorite comics online instead of a newspaper, but I love the nostalgia of reading the daily comics. Anyway, one of my favorite current comics is Cyanide and Happiness and I will be posting the daily release from their website (https://explosm.net/) and a an extra or two randoms.

I only played RE4 on the GameCube. While I didn't hate it, there were aspects I found very irritating.
Game: "You are a badass secret service agent sent in alone to save the president's daughter."
Me "oh shit a bad guy, better shoot him"
Leon: [Draws gun, immediately gets Parkinson's]
Game: [in spanish] "Look out. I'm a scary monster man. I'm gonna get you..."
Me: "Goddammit, he's 10 feet away, just point the gun straight ahead."
Leon: [aims at floor, wall, ceiling, potted plant, own foot, broadside of a barn, enemy’s left asscheek, neighbor's chihuahua]
It's supposed to be tense, but the tank warfare meets octodad gunplay was just annoying. Has he never held a pistol before?
Ludonarrative dissonance can be a hell of a drug. It's not something I've personally been super affected by because I mostly play online content, but it definitely is one of the things I look at when starting a new game.
I have never before heard the term "ludonarrative dissonance" before and I love it. Thanks for the introduction.

Here's 4 bullets and 7 zombies. Good luck!
It could be fun if the game allowed to align (or even ricochet) a bullet through multiple zombies, but you need 5 bullets to kill a zombie anyway
I mean, it's supposed to force you to run away. It just was never natural for most teenagers and always felt like it wanted you to take your time and shoot your way out, but no, the speedrunner strategy is where it's at. It's not a shooter, it's a survival speedrun.
I really liked the part in that one "welcome to Raccoon city" movie where Chris is blasting every last ammo he has in a panic in a long escape scene, emptying multiple big guns and switching to smaller and smaller caliber whenever he runs out of something until he only has the goddamn knife left, and then the light turns off. Typical! Got a good laugh from me. e: this one how not to play Resident Evil

Love it.
The original 1, 2, 3, Code Veronica, 0 had tank controls, is that what you mean? After that for the last 20 years, 4 to 6 and most of the rest were 3rd person / over the shoulder, including the remakes of the original 1-2-3 (I think 0 remake is also coming), and Revelations 1 and 2. 7 and 8 are first person. Not counting the shooter spin-offs. Nowadays, they play just fine, you shouldn't find anything wrong with the REmakes - unless you just don't like the genre at all.
I haven't played a remake, but I couldn't tell you which game it was. Probably 15 years ago!
