It was such a vile move to claim the name meta. Before that, both "meta" and "metaverse" had a very different meaning and it has drastically changed since then.
actually so fucking true, I've seen so many YouTube videos when the metaverse was announced that they were going to do stuff in the metaverse but it was just vr chat, so people got high expectations and stuff
It should also not involve businesses or work at all. I don't want to be in a bad excuse for a VR video game during a business call.
And you can tell it’s not the same tech hype cycle because the big players can’t profit off it
