This is really cool for blogs, especially with for having comments without relying on a 3rd party company that collects cookies and requires a central account

Yes, Bridgy and Bridgy Fed both can do similar functionality, but Hatsu is the only one that is easily self-hosted and doesn't require microformats / webmention.
