Do you:

Wiggle your toes, helplessly hoping to get free

Or

Wiggle your fingers, helplessly trying to get free

I thought that was just my constant state of being.

The bag of money should be after all the people tied up on the track, he runs over the people and collects the money

[–] Captainvaqina@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 year ago

Lot easier to collect if it's not exploded all over the tracks.

Actually, it's the 0,01%. The doctor or engineer that makes $ 200000 a year is not the enemy.

It takes $5.8 million to be part of the 1% in the USA. Do many engineers or doctors have that much?

In Germany at least only if they have their own company and exploit their employees (or inheried wealth), but Germany doesn't treat it's engineers very well.

[–] TexMexBazooka@lemm.ee 8 points 1 year ago

Gotta keep those German engineers humble lest they start getting any ideas

Our of interest is that shared income or personal? I wonder how many people are part of the 1% but their spouse and children aren't.

[–] menemen@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

My source doesn't explicitly mention it. But underage children normally don't count in lists like this.

Not "going to be", but "is" and "was".

Texas Attorney General stood right up and said grandma and grandpa would be happy to die to keep 'the economy' going

[–] jkrtn@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 year ago

No, that cannot be. Wasn't that one of those same guys screeching about death panels? Surely they would have the integrity and consistency to oppose killing grandparents in 2020.

My favorite version of the choo choo problem is when you can choose to divert the train down the tracks to someone else that has to face the choo choo problem.

I wouldn't be surprised if self driving cars, where the trolley problem is often used, will try to save the ones that look the most rich.

[–] dev_null@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 year ago

They will try to brake, and if that's not enough then that's not enough. As interesting as such philosophical discussions are, cars won't be making "decisions on who to kill", that's ridiculous. They will just brake. Same as any other automated machinery, it just stops in case of an emergency.

If Elon Musk has his way, they will actively try to run over black people.

The car horn makes a fart noise as it bounces over the body without slowing. Other pedestrians dash over in horror. The car's rear printer has littered the street with fliers reading, "a cabal of Jews controls the planet," and, "I cannot believe Grimes left such a smart and handsome guy."

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Sounds about right.

[–] unreasonabro@lemmy.world -2 points 1 year ago
