A few yards ago I would have said this was staged. But now I can totally believe it.

Edit: was reading the first response in my inbox and wondering what the guy was talking about. Then reread my comment and noticed the typo. Leaving it up now because I don’t think without the typo my comment would have seen this level of engagement.

Crazy what a few feet can do to public perception

Public perception won’t stay that way furlong

I have to metre my expectations with what the public will do.

When I see clouds behind someone (especially in shots with angles like this), I tend to think that they are legitimate clouds unless there is obvious Photoshop. There was a very long time where natural lighting was preferred over artificial lighting for shots like this.

Why would someone go through the immense effort to make artificial lighting look like natural lighting when natural lighting is already there and it's completely free?

Are photoshopped clouds more normal than legitimate clouds now? Did I miss something?

I remember there was a kerfluffle about an Instagram influencer with the same clouds everywhere she went. There are filters for it apparently.

Enjoy the sky while you still can. If Sarah Connor taught us anything it's that the first thing we're going to take out is the sun and sky then the war of the machines begins. I'll be ready because I'm not leaving my computer. Not for one second.

What is it anyway. People talk about it in this thread as if I should know but I cannot find it in any app store.

[–] lugal@sopuli.xyz 4 points 2 years ago

It's not an app but a website. Here is the link

[–] daw@lemmy.world 8 points 2 years ago (1 children)

not my screenshot but I was wondering what did it mean

[–] SiyahGuraag@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Oh. Karachi is the biggest city in Pakistan, a country in South Asia.

[–] daw@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

ohhh! that's so cool to know! I wouldn't have guessed it was a city (might've just googled it lol)
