pray as you may, there’s just no way.

I mean I've heard good things about the Amazon produced Boys and the later seasons of the Expanse, but on the other hand I was very disappointed with their Lord of the Rings.

The main thing I keep telling myself is that there's no way it's worse than the Halo show, my other favorite gaming IP.

Is it just me, or is there an increase in shows set in LA? Are they just LA writers who have never lived outside the city at this point?

I mean, how many movies and TV shows were based in New York from 1970-2010?

[–] Gigasser@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

For fallout it makes sense.

The first game was set in the same region.

Why does that car have 2 front ends and a diagonal sign on its roof? Amazon couldn't afford an actual artist?

[–] Torvum@lemmy.world 10 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Unironically think its AI, further noting this will be dogshit. I'm totally sure every show being developed during a writer's strike will be good. Worked last time right?

[–] Milan@feddit.nl 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Oh for sure it's AI. I don't think it's indicative of the quality of the show though, just that the marketing department is lazy. I don't think the writer's strike has effected the show much either, the show was in the last stages of post-production when the strike was called. It could still be bad despite that of course.

[–] Torvum@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

We'll see. That makes sense about the strike, but I still have little to no hope.

I don't think they've managed to put microtransactions into video format yet, but I guess here we go.

[–] bi_tux@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Scamazon Prime is literaly based on micro transactions, you pay for prime, but to watch something good you pay extra

Ngl I don't have faith that Amazon will deliver us a cinematic masterpiece.

im excited, but did not expect it to be set in LA. curious how that will turn out

[–] justsomeguy@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago (1 children)

They'll just film it in skid row to save money on sets.

[–] BigBananaDealer@lemm.ee 2 points 2 years ago

haha but filming wrapped like a year ago, and they did some in new york so i was really expecting east coast instead of west coast

Does this mean we'll be seeing more of the Boneyard and classic lore? Also never seen a vault-boy with the numbers on the chest before, neat.

[–] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Isn't LA the fucking Necropolis?

[–] Kangie@lemmy.srcfiles.zip 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

No. LA is the Angel's Boneyard and Master's Cathedral in FO1.

Bakersfield is Necropolis.

[–] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 0 points 2 years ago

Bakersfield is Necropolis.

I was talking about in the game tho. :P
