To add on to note taking, Obsidian is an open source alternative that is designed for markdown. It also has an in-built vim mode

Didn't its main maintainer step down recently after the Rust 4 Linux drama? Wonder if it has enough contributors to keep it alive

I know that it's rolling release, but 4 times this year seems a bit much in c/linuxmemes@lemmy.world

Agreed. Linux troubleshooting is easier for sure, assuming you know your way around a terminal. Many beginners tremble in fear when they see it. In windows nearly everything is labeled and clickable... removing the need to memorize commands.
