Hmm, darn, was hoping this came first.
Is downvote you if I could, but my instance can't.
Might be the saddest part of this whole story.
I love this comment.
Met someone at a dive bar recently that was a raging piece of shit MAGAt and went on and on about hating DEI and how white people deserve equality too...
...fucking turns out they also work in HR at a company. Sadly I wasn't able to figure out what company (was hoping to report them). But dear god. Worst HR person ever.
I was more poor back then, certified mail cost extra, also getting to the post office during business hours was nearly impossible.
But I understand the logic (maybe moreso now...) - but poor me was too busy just trying to get by day to day and survive.
I had a landlord that would let you mail checks to get around it. But the leasing docs explicitly stated there was a 6% fee for every day rent was late and rent wasn't considered received until the check cleared.
So we had to mail the check like 2 weeks in advance in case it didn't arrive quickly enough and then sometimes he'd deposit it 1-2 after receipt and then it'd be a nail biter if it fully cleared in the 24-72 hours necessary for him not to consider it "late".
I hate that guy and he's like 90 now and still not dead despite cancer and two heart attacks.
I feel this might be part of it. I love Colbert but I don't like late shows and never watched his except a couple clips online. I know I'm not the only one.
I don't even watch the Daily Show anymore but I always watch Jon Stewart's clips. Again, I can't be the only one.
Fuck this administration, I hope they burn in the hell they believe in. I hope they all get cancer.
I try my best to find redeeming qualities in everyone, but there is none to be found in them.
I read that in his voice and it worked perfectly. You nailed it.
Simply put:
If something gets fucked up and you used a debit card, you're the one screwed until it is sorted out (if it is sorted out). Also debit disputes can take 8+ weeks I've heard.
If something is screwed up and you used a credit card, then the bank is on the hook until it is sorted out. And typically they'll credit you the amount until the investigation is complete and it is usually complete within 30 days. I've had chargebacks remain credited simply because the other party never responded.
